"Pietro Paolo was informative before the excursion and made sure that we found the right place at the right time. He was also on time. Pietro then took his time to find the right level of fact and feeling for us as a group, making sure that we got more than numbers and names. We got to know the culture, the people, the melting pot that is Ancient Rome and how the center of the Roman power worked. The colosseum part of the tour had a focus on how the Romans experienced the arena, what actually took place there and how far from the Hollywood myth that it really was. His knowledge here was both wide and deep, even showing skills in latin translation of the ancient signs. The same went for the forum part of our excursion. He showed us how that town center worked and felt in a great way. Fun, informative, open to all types of questions and agile to our needs. His entire guidance of us was backed up by a screen (big tablet) where he showed photos and pictures for us to understand more about how everything looked back in the day. "Markella was an AMAZING guide who shared her time, expertise, and information with us on. Her overview of the history to lay out our tour at the acropolis was excellent (& needed)! She did an amazing job ensuring that we understood Greek mythology and reality of the time. We also got to see the recently unveiled side of the Parthenon which was incredible. The museum afterwards was a treat, filled with so many artifacts related to what we had just seen as the ruins. Markell’s did an amazing job showing us the highlights & relating the two. We had a blast and would highly recommend this tour to those coming to Athens! Note that the tickets are not included, so you’ll have to book the acropolis tickets and correct time slot ahead of time. "

"We had Federica for a private food tour and it was the best ever! We have been doing food tours throughout Italy and this was our first private food tour. Federica was amazing! Her knowledge was extensive of all the restaurants, street food, new food trends and where to go to try local favorites. We had wonderful conversations, listed to street performers and had a fun and food filled evening. She modified the tour as we casually mentioned favorite foods, in our case artichokes and expresso, and Federica quickly integrated our preferences. We now have a favorite new dessert!
