"Karmen was a wonderful guide for our first experience in Dubrovnik! We had our 9 & 12 year olds with us and she was thoughtful in explaining the history of various buildings, areas, etc. with enough detail for us but also engaging for the kids. She took us to a local gelato shop midway through the tour (her treat) and at the end provided wonderful suggestions for the best of restaurants and shops. "

Mia made our trip a delight!
"We had a blast during our tour with Mia! We booked this tour on our first night in Dubrovnik and she helped us start off strong! From offering a historical introduction to the city to sharing her local’s perspective of Dubrovnik’s unique food and culture, we enjoyed great conversation and a deeper appreciation for this very unique city. "
"Karmen was a very friendly open person who adapted to our culinary requirements. She was very knowledgable about the local foods and wines and took us to great eateries run by local Croatians. She also helped us plan our 4 night stay in Dubrovnik. Overall a very pleasant evening and I would recommended this tour."
"I am nearing 80 years old and my daughter, although in her early fifties has physical limitations. We had no issues with the energy needed to go on this tour with Vlaho. We had spent the previous day wandering the streets of Old Town Dubrovnik. I had visited Dubrovnik in 1987, before the breakup of Yugoslavia. Both of us enjoyed the Old Town, but it was our time with Vlaho that gave us an understanding of the circumstances of the dissolution of Yugoslavia and the enmity that resulted that shaped the Dubrovnik of today. Because my husband and I had visited Dubrovnik so recently we were shocked at the time that this World Heritage Site was subjected to bombings in 1991-1992. The tour with Vlaho gave the historical background as well as the details of the war that have shaped the Dubrovnik of today. Vlaho was an excellent history teacher in a short amount of time and having been a defender of Dubrovnik in the war, gave us a good understanding of what the people of Dubrovnik went through. When you wander the town you do not see much evidence of the war. The holes from the bombardments have been filled, but the town, still beautiful, is changed forever. The War Museum and the cable car ride up to it were an added element to the tour. We both valued our time with Vlaho who gave us an in depth view of Dubrovnik.

"We had a great tour with Karmen! She was the perfect guide for 2 adults and a 6-year-old. We all loved the tour and found Karmen knowledgeable and engaging. Highly recommend! "
"Karmen made our kids feel special on the tour, and was super entertaining for the kids and adults on the trip. She had incredible knowledge of the city and explained it in a way that everyone could understand and appreciate. Karmen is playful, genuine and so kind. I can’t recommend her highly enough. "
"My son and I booked Karmen on a last minute tour in Dubrovnik’s old town. It was much more than I hade hoped. Karmen was energetic and engaging and show us her city with passion. She outlined the high points and gave context and nuance that brought the city and its fascinating history to life. She shared her tips for top choices to eat and things to do. The two hours spent with Karmen on our first day in Croatia set the tone for an amazing adventure. Thank you Karmen!!"
"Do not let Desa’s small number of reviews fool you because she recently started working with WithLocals. She is a hidden gem of a guide. Having grown up in the old town in Dubrovnik and having been a student of history, she has personal knowledge of the area. This intimate knowledge allowed her to share some of the social aspects of growing up in the old town. Because of questions we asked, she was able to show some sites that we might not otherwise have seen. We were a group of six and all appreciated her guidance. We would highly recommend her."
