"Apologies for reviewing so long after doing the tour. It is a reflection of me not the tour (I have ADHD). Garen was such a delightful tour guide. She was knowledgeable, engaging and super friendly. She made great choices on the tour to accomodate my friend who is vegetarian and still have meat options for me to try too. We loved how she incorporated history and culture (and shopping) into the tour so seemlessly. Thoughout the tour it was clear she had a great relationship with her vendors who were all very welcoming to us. Highlights included trying Aiyu jelly and the good local bubble tea advice for which chains to avoid. As well as the breakfast foods we'd never heard of but have now found in our hometown of Sydney! We were also very lucky to have our tour the same day as the first day back to work after new year in Taiwan. We witnessed people setting off crackers and fireworks which she was able to explain the significance to us. We would highly recommend Garen's tour to anyone travelling to Taipei. "

"Garen was an incredible guide, she has a bright/bubbly personality which was appreciated as we were still jet lagged and spent a full day sight seeing. She was well informed not just about the food but Taiwan in general, including the history and recent politics. We have two picky kids and they still found plenty to eat and enjoy. "We have 4 college students in our group of 5 and everyone loved June. She is full of energy and enthusiasm. She was also a wealth of information. We learned so much about the local way of life and the history of Taiwan. The yummy food was icing on the cake. She told us lots of stories about local people and eating customs and preferences, took us through a wet market that had some produce we’d never seen before, and all along the way she was chatting to all the sellers because she was friends with everyone, which in turn made us feel welcome. We tasted heaps of local foods, and even had time to stop at a temple and learn about how Taiwanese people approach religion. It was great to meet you, June, thanks!"

"Jones really was a great guide for my food tour. I only had about 3 hours before I had to head back to the airport, and Jones made the most of it for me. It was A LOT of food, especially for just one person (two people would have been perfect to share the food). Jones managed my near-to-bursting belly well, picking and choosing the best things to try toward the end of the tour. He also did a good job giving me interesting information on Taipei generally but also the market we were exploring. "

"Jones was great at communication. We probably picked a poor time as 11:00 in Taipei in August super hot! Jones was a champion he coordinated a well choreographed history tour that had us 1/2 the time in air conditioning. We learned a lot about Longshan Temple and local customs. He took us to eat and drink several local delicacies. We finished the tour at a Michelin restaurant that included braised pork, fried tofu and sweet potato leaves. A very scrumptious meal. We walked 15,000 steps that day with travel by MRT and meeting up with Jones. "

"We had an amazing time with June. She was very knowledgeable of the neighborhood and seem to know everyone. She took us to all the foods that we were dying to try but a little too shy and inexperience to order. Everything we ate, she was able to tell us, a long history of either how it came to fruition, The rivalries between competitors, and who is better in her opinion, and how store owners went from a single stand to multiple chain restaurants. She was patient with us, and it felt like we had known her all our lives. We particularly enjoyed the tea experience, and we served by A Certified Tea Master. My husband and I would highly recommend June As a guide. She went out of her Way to make our experience unforgettable."
