"We decided to book a guide at the last minute and felt incredibly lucky that Du (pronounced “You”, as we learned) was available that afternoon. I honestly can’t imagine a better guide if you want to absorb local history and culture from someone who grew up in the region. Du is engaging, easy to understand, and radiates wisdom beyond her years. Her depth of knowledge, warmth, and enthusiasm made the whole experience feel personal and memorable.
The Imperial City already feels like the set of a period drama, but Du’s storytelling and eye for detail truly brought it to life. "We made a late call to arrange a tour of the Imperial City, lucky for us Matthew was available and confirmed straight away. We had not used With Locals before so were a little apprehensive about using a new company. However what a great decision. Matthew was outstanding, even helping us with info on where to eat the day before our tour started. His enthusiasm and expertise on the background and historical significance of the events leading up to the eventual abdication of the last King were enlightening and entertaining.
