"Claudia-Maria was absolutely fantastic! She did an outstanding job, guiding us through the Hofburg, bringing the Habsburg dynasty to life and making the history easy to follow. What really made the tour memorable was when she took us to a special neighborhood— a hidden gem in Vienna— where we strolled down quiet, narrow streets, discovering charming courtyards, passing by many artists’ shops and cozy sidewalk cafés. Along the way, she even pointed out some traditional restaurants, the typical Viennese Gasthäuser. Our conversations with Claudia-Maria ranged from history and food specialties to craft beer, wine, and Sturm, as well as everyday life in Vienna. We came away with an authentic experience of Vienna that we could not have gained on our own and a deeper sense of local culture. You won’t be disappointed with Claudia-Maria as your guide."

To begin with, she asked for any requests in advance of the tour and we told her that we had already been to a number of key sites and that we wanted to see other locations related to my family’s history. And when I told her that I had a copy of my genealogy book, she actually met us the day before so that she could read through my history and prepare for our tour. Needless to say, she provided exactly what we were looking for. From my grandparents’ residences, to the location of their temples to even some darker history that we really wanted/needed to hear. Roxane provided so much additional information that helped fill in gaps that even a three-year genealogy project could not explain. "Our tour with Dr. Claudia-Maria was OUTSTANDING! We booked our tour specifically with her because of her background with archeology and stated knowledge as a local and the many good reviews she had. We were not disappointed! As it turned out, our Viking ship tour director had surprised our ship with a walking (rather than coach) tour, very similar to what we had scheduled with Claudia-Maria, but with 25 people. We did do that because it was better than a coach tour. But we figured this private tour would have a more detailed explanation of Vienna's history and that of the much varied architecture. We were mainly interested in the early history, and how the changes from Roman rule up through early 20th century changed the city and people. She made a point to expand upon what we'd heard the previous day, and not duplicate anything, unless we asked for it. We learned so much .. our main objective .. and enjoyed discussions and explanations from Claudia-Maria. 10 stars are not enough if you are facinated with history, interested in learning about culture and enjoy good topic discussion with a very knowledgeable guide! The time just passed too fast. If we make it to Vienna again we will definitely book another walk with this amazing guide! Oh! And she helped in recommending great local coffee houses, a fantastic restaurant, as well as a most deliciously decadent chocolate shop! "
