"I was a little wary when booking this - dinner with two strangers in their home? But do not hesitate - this is really dinner with two new friends, Simon and Rein! The food was fantastic - shrimp appetizer, lamb, and molten chocolate cake. Then the wine! I *hate* even the smell of wine, but I tried all that they offered and ended up enjoying three glasses! But the best part was the conversation-we could have easily stayed for even longer if we hadn't had an early train! An absolutely fantastic night, and to top it off, they have two delightful dachshunds so I even got to give some dog scratchies! "

"We were looking to begin our trip to Amsterdam by eating with locals and getting some insider recommendations on things to do for the rest of our trip. Simon and Rein were absolutely FANTASTIC hosts and we enjoyed every minute of our expereince. Simon was a great cook preparing delicious dishes that exhibited the local flavor. Rein showed us some great local Dutch wines and did not allow our glasses to run empty. Both were fantastic conversationalists and we thoroughly enjoyed our time at their house. "What a wonderful evening. Simon, his husband and 2 dachshunds were perfect hosts. I was welcomed with lovely appetizers and wine. Their home is beautiful and I see why they enjoy sharing it. All the food was great. We had a shrimp salad course, main dish of white asparagus with ham, egg and potato followed by an excellent chocolate mousse. Conversation flowed as easily as the wine. I highly recommend this local experience. "
