Day Trip Through the Enchanting Douro Valley

A visit to Porto would not be complete without a day trip to the breathtaking and scenic views of the terraced vineyards of the Duoro Valley.

Our wonderful guide, Gustavo made sure that our experience started right away. He picked us up promptly at our hotel in a very nice, comfortable and air conditioned car. While our scheduled tour was that of the Douro Valley, Gustavo made sure to go the extra mile making sure to stop at additional points of interest. We had a wonderful authentic lunch before going on an hour long and enjoyable river cruise giving us a different perspective of the Duoro Valley. Once the cruise was over we headed to a beautiful estate for our port tasting. All the while Gustavo had a final surprise for us! Heading to the very top of the Duoro Valley we ended the scenic part of our tour surrounded by locals in the most amazing and jaw dropping look out point. Little did I know that this would end up being the best tour I have ever been on.

Gustavo, is friendly and incredibly knowledgable of the area and the history of Portugal. This was a great learning experience for us as we learned about the historical origin of Port wine. He was very proud to show us the Duoro Valley and always made sure that this was a personalized experience for us.

Miuto Obrigada, Gustavo!
