One of the most beautiful and popular views in Istanbul is the skyline of the Old City. This skyline includes the minarets of the Blue Mosque and the Hagia Sophia, as well as the Hagia Irene church and Topkapi Palace. Off to the side of it, you can see the New Mosque (which is 400 years old) and the Suleymaniye Mosque. Taken together, they represent the iconic skyline that people associate Istanbul’s sightseeing with. For a great picture of this skyline, head to Kadikoy. There, you’ll find a rocky sea barrier, which is a favorite spot for locals to look across the Bosporus to the Old City.

Underground Ruins & Rooftops of Old Istanbul
Benoit is a rock star tour guide! Not only is he fun, sociable, postive and accomodating to your interests and needs, but he is extraordinarily knowledgable and passionate about the life and times (present and past) of Istanbul. A true scholar and professional. We couldn't have had a better guide to open us up to the mysteries and the histories of a most incredibly beautiful and complex city -- Istanbul. Thank you Benoit.
Alternative Istanbul: Yeldeğirmeni & Street Art in Kadıköy
As a female solo traveler and a street art junkie, I chose Alper and was not disappointed.
He was kind enough to pick me up as I was staying on the European side. He taught me how to purchase and top-up an Istanbul card which was very useful as I continued to use for the next two days. Our walk at Kadiloy took us to the neighbor of Yeldegirmeni and Moda. We saw many interesting and fascinating street arts and murals. His knowledge of the artists and their art works was impressive. During our cay break, he shared some culture and history of Turkey. As it’s a private walking tour, the pace is entirely up to you. I saw more than 15 street arts, plus churches and buildings. If you want hidden gems and non-touristy places, Alper is your guy.
Good job Alper, and thank you for a wonderful and memorable guided tour!
A customized trip with Ugur
We spent a fantastic day with Ugur as he showed us around the main historical sights of Istanbul. He was very interesting to talk to and was really helpful in advising us about where to eat and other places to visit. Nothing was too much trouble for him. I would highly recommend booking a private tour with Ugur.
