  • Each year during Sail Amsterdam around 600 ships sail across the IJhaven in Amsterdam.

  • In 2013 Willem Alexander became the official successor on the royal line, thus being the first king in the Netherlands in 123 years.   • Sail Amsterdam is the biggest free accessible festival in Europe. Each year during Sail young and old get together to witness the sight of over 600 ships sailing through the North Sea canal. It truly is a spectacular sight and the Amsterdam locals are very proud of this festival. The festivals takes place for 5 days in a row and is visited by almost two million people each year.
