Airports in Bangkok

There are two main airports in Bangkok, Don Mueang airport and Suvarnabhumi airport. The older of the two, Don Mueang, handles mostly domestic flights. So if flying in from overseas you are likely to land at the newer, larger, Suvarnabhumi airport. Don Mueang airport is the less busy of the two and tends to have shorter queues, but you are only likely to use it if you are flying to another destination within Thailand.

Connections with Bangkok and beyond

As that largest of all airports in Bangkok, and one of the major international travel hubs of the region, Suvarnabhumi airport is usually very busy. It is a fairly new airport, so it is well connected to the city, with a modern transportation network that helps getting you to your destination as quickly as possible. Located just on the outskirts of the city it will not be long before you find yourself in downtown Bangkok, and it is also well connected with another popular destination, Pattaya.

There’s always a taxi available at the Airport

Taxis are everywhere at airports in Bangkok and you will find a queue of them at the taxi rank waiting to take you onto your next destination. Use the designated taxi rank and your journey from the airport will be registered for your security. Also, be sure to request that the driver uses their meter, so you won't be overcharged.

Transport from the airport

Hire a luxury taxi for a more comfortable ride

For a more comfortable ride in a new, luxury vehicle you could use the Bangkok airport limousine service instead. Of course you should expect to pay more for your journey but we only usually get to holiday once a year or so, so why not treat yourself if you can afford it?

Use the rail link to avoid traffic.

Want to avoid the traffic? Then you could instead use the Bangkok airport rail link that will take you into the heart of the city without having to sit at a single traffic light. The rail link even intersects with the city's skytrain and subway system, making it easier for you to reach your destination if you are not staying in central Bangkok.

Don’t forget to have lots of fun on your trip and try out all the things to do in Bangkok!

Nadja Piyaporn

Eat like a local in Old Town Bangkok Private Tour

A big thanks to Piyaporn for organizing this trip.

We have travelled to Bangkok multiple times, yet she managed to show us places and areas we have never come across.

We Got to experience lokal markers (literally no tourists) and traditional Thai food.

Her English and humor is great, which makes for an easy going experience.

Can only recommend this trip for foodies and explorers! :-)

Joseph Big

Private Spiritual Morning with Thai Monks

Big gave us a very unique inside look at the life of a Monk. It was an experience to be there while they got ready for the day, did their collections of alms, ate, chanted, and then we went to Wat Phra to get some more info and watch some more chanting.
We were very happy with this tour that he created.

Sybille Tuangtip

A customized trip with Tuangtip

I have had the most amazing day in Bangkok thanks to the lovely Tuangtip who is a super sweet lady but also very organised and professional in her job as a guide. I spent all day with Tuangtip and feel that she has really shown me the absolute must see places in Bangkok but has also taken me to more hidden gems of the city. Tuangtip has a very sunny nature, is easy to talk to and you can totally relax on a tour as she is taking care of everything. She shared her immense knowledge about the city and I would definitely book her again for another tour.
