Airports in Bangkok

There are two main airports in Bangkok, Don Mueang airport and Suvarnabhumi airport. The older of the two, Don Mueang, handles mostly domestic flights. So if flying in from overseas you are likely to land at the newer, larger, Suvarnabhumi airport. Don Mueang airport is the less busy of the two and tends to have shorter queues, but you are only likely to use it if you are flying to another destination within Thailand.

Connections with Bangkok and beyond

As that largest of all airports in Bangkok, and one of the major international travel hubs of the region, Suvarnabhumi airport is usually very busy. It is a fairly new airport, so it is well connected to the city, with a modern transportation network that helps getting you to your destination as quickly as possible. Located just on the outskirts of the city it will not be long before you find yourself in downtown Bangkok, and it is also well connected with another popular destination, Pattaya.

There’s always a taxi available at the Airport

Taxis are everywhere at airports in Bangkok and you will find a queue of them at the taxi rank waiting to take you onto your next destination. Use the designated taxi rank and your journey from the airport will be registered for your security. Also, be sure to request that the driver uses their meter, so you won't be overcharged.

Transport from the airport

Hire a luxury taxi for a more comfortable ride

For a more comfortable ride in a new, luxury vehicle you could use the Bangkok airport limousine service instead. Of course you should expect to pay more for your journey but we only usually get to holiday once a year or so, so why not treat yourself if you can afford it?

Use the rail link to avoid traffic.

Want to avoid the traffic? Then you could instead use the Bangkok airport rail link that will take you into the heart of the city without having to sit at a single traffic light. The rail link even intersects with the city's skytrain and subway system, making it easier for you to reach your destination if you are not staying in central Bangkok.

Don’t forget to have lots of fun on your trip and try out all the things to do in Bangkok!

Private Spiritual Morning with Thai Monks

Big took us on an early morning adventure into the first hours of a monk's daily routine: chanting, meditating, seeking alms in nearby market streets, having their morning meal. Big apparently is friends with the monks, and they accepted us in a very friendly way. Big gave us all sorts of interesting information and personally accompanied us through the three hour visit. It was the most interesting thing we've done in Bangkok.

Bangkok's Highlights on a Long Tail Boat & Tuk Tuk

We had an amazing afternoon with Tuangtip! We have been to Bangkok many times, however Tuangtip managed to take us to places that were new to us and where we did not meet many tourists.
Moreover Tuangtip is very knowledgeable and organises everything so well.
Highly recommend Tuangtip for a local and memorable experience in Bangkok!
