Airports in Bangkok
There are two main airports in Bangkok, Don Mueang airport and Suvarnabhumi airport. The older of the two, Don Mueang, handles mostly domestic flights. So if flying in from overseas you are likely to land at the newer, larger, Suvarnabhumi airport. Don Mueang airport is the less busy of the two and tends to have shorter queues, but you are only likely to use it if you are flying to another destination within Thailand.
Connections with Bangkok and beyond
As that largest of all airports in Bangkok, and one of the major international travel hubs of the region, Suvarnabhumi airport is usually very busy. It is a fairly new airport, so it is well connected to the city, with a modern transportation network that helps getting you to your destination as quickly as possible. Located just on the outskirts of the city it will not be long before you find yourself in downtown Bangkok, and it is also well connected with another popular destination, Pattaya.
There’s always a taxi available at the Airport
Taxis are everywhere at airports in Bangkok and you will find a queue of them at the taxi rank waiting to take you onto your next destination. Use the designated taxi rank and your journey from the airport will be registered for your security. Also, be sure to request that the driver uses their meter, so you won't be overcharged.
