The trek to the summit of Adam’s Peak is a popular place to visit by tourists in Sri Lanka. It is considered to be a very sacred peak amongst the Buddhists, as they believe it holds the sacred footprint of Lord Buddha. Though there are differences in opinion across faiths as to whom the footprint belongs to, it shouldn’t stop you from enjoying the beautiful panoramic views it has to offer.
The climb itself requires a lot of physical strength and good preparation. Get your local guide to help you with it! They’ll know exactly what items you need to take along with you during the trek. Tip: Most tourists start the climb at midnight, so they can get to the top to catch the sunrise for spectacular views.
