Travel options in Galle

  • Getting around in Galle isn’t that hard. There are several transportation methods open for public. There are busses, trains, Tuk-tuks and taxis. None of them are really expensive.
  • The best way to travel to towns nearby Galle would be using the bus. There are several lines available and the bus station is close to the train station. The busses are cheap too. A trip from Colombo to Galle will only cost you 230 rupee. Which is about €1,30.
  • Another good way of transportation is the train. The railway station of Galle is at Havelock Road. Most of the trains, like 8039, have Colombo Maradana as their final destination. This brings you way closer to the Bandaranayake Airport.
  • Tuk-Tuk are also a quite popular way of transportation in Galle. The Tuk Tuk fares are higher than the fares of the bus, about 300 rupee for a trip to Unawatuna. Which is about €2,-.

Local Flavors of Saigon at Night: Private Food Tour

Son &Thuy were fabulous hosts, very friendly, great company and with very good english. They took us around the city on their motorbikes (great experience) to sample 6 different dishes which we would have been unlikely to find ourselves. We even cooked one! Highly recommend the tour and these 2 students! Ruth & Tom

Best of Marrakech: Highlights and Hidden Gems tour

The 4 hours we spent with Khalil walking through Marrakesh were really amazing! He provided us with fun stories, historical backgrounds and many interesting facts about the sights we stopped at. He even knew an answer to any of our questions and was always in a happy mood! As the Bahia palace was too crowded to enjoy - he suggested to visit another (lesser known but as beautiful!!!) palace which had even more things to explore and this without other visitors 'spoiling the view'.
Without him we would have never been able to navigate through the souk so easily and relaxed. After the tour he even showed us the best local places to have lunch at!
The only thing missing from the website description was the tea at a local home, however, Khalil showed us where to get spices for our cooking back home, as sombody in our group wished for.
I can really recommend Khalil as a guide! We had an amzing and fun time with him! Thanks again! :)
