Travel to & in Valencia

Plane

Travel to Valencia in the quickest and easiest way possible: taking a plane. Valencia is well connected by air with most European capitals. If you’re lucky, you can even find a ticket from a low-cost airline for very little money.

Train

You can take a train instead of a plane if you don’t mind spending a few more time in transit. That’s what train lovers do! In fact, you can travel to Valencia in just a few hours if you take the fast train from another European city.

Once in Valencia, the train is also a good option to get outside the city and see the small Mediterranean towns of the surrounding area. Your local host will give you all the practical information you need, don’t hesitate to ask them.

Rented car or motorbike

If you’re into road trips, make sure you rent a car or a motorbike. You can do so at the airport or around the city center, your local guide will surely help you to do that.

Make sure your travel insurance is on point and don’t forget to take your home country drivers license with you as you’ll need it to rent your vehicle. If you get a motorbike, remember that you’ll need to wear a helmet at all times. Travel in Valencia comfortably and enjoy the freedom of renting a vehicle!

Boat

Since Valencia is by the sea, many cruise ships traveling around the Mediterranean make a stopover in Valencia. You will normally have a full day to wander around the city and discover its main highlights with your host until you get back on board in the evening.

If you visit Parc Natural de l’Albufera, one of our top things to do when you travel to Valencia, a small boat is a must if you want to have an epic day out in the nature. You can enjoy a tour by boat around the park while you watch a beautiful sunset.

Bike

A bike tour is the most fun way to see Valencia. Your local host and you will ride through the old quarter and discover its hidden gems together. This is an all-time favorite tour you can’t miss!

Metro

The easiest way to get around the city being a visitor is definitely by metro. The subway infrastructure is modern and connects every part of Valencia. Once you get a metro map, you’ll make your way around without any problem, even if you travel alone. This is the way to travel in Valencia like a local!

Tram

Taking the tram is a popular option amongst the locals to get down to the beach and port area. You can do the same hopping on at Pont de Fusta or Benimaclet stops.

Bus

The bus system might not be so easy to understand as a visitor. Indeed, knowing where to get off is not very evident sometimes. Anyway, the locals will be happy to help you if you need some directions, don’t worry!

The Best of Old Valencia

We had a great couple of hours with Mike on our tour of Valencia. He was very enthusiastic and knowledgable about the lovely city, he showed us a few off the beaten track gems and gave some tips on other places to visit in our own time.

Capture the Moment! – Family Friendly Photo Tour

Hi

Ida was really amazing during the afternoon. We had a personalised tour where she showed us the main landmarks of the city and took picture of the group. This was for a bachelorette party and the future bride was delighted.

Many thanks again.

Day Trip: Albufera Lake Experience

Fernando did an amazing job! He is thoughtful, courteous, and professional. I requested additional information about the wildlife living around the lake and he added a visit to the nature park which was wonderful. We had spent three days enjoying Valencia but were ready for a quieter, natural setting and we found it at Lake Albufera. The boat ride was relaxing and the food delicious. I highly recommend Fernando's Spanish omelette! Fernando explained how the lake water is controlled by gates and used to flood the rice fields. We enjoyed seeing the rice fields even though they are dry this time of year.

We then had a tasty lunch at a local restaurant, my first taste of true paella. Fernando even helped us get the correct tickets at the train station. At the end of our week of sightseeing in Valencia, I asked our group of four what they enjoyed the most and they each said it was the day at Lake Albufera! Thank you, Fernando!
