The airport in Barcelona is called El Prat and is located 12 km southwest of the center of Barcelona. It is the second big airport in Spain, after the one in Madrid. It has two terminals and in 2014 around 37 million passengers passed through the airport. This makes it the 10th busiest airport of the whole of Europe!
The modern airport has plenty of shops, restaurants and facilities to make sure that waiting for your flight is not that much of a pain. Also getting past the checks is known to be relatively quick, so you are off to the beach before you can say ‘la playa’!
