Shopping in Porto

Tourists and visitors come to Porto to experience its culture and tradition mainly through its food and its people, but that does not mean good food and good folks are all there is to Porto. Yes, you will find many ways to experience the local culture of the city, but if you ever need a break from the tourist experiences and wish to soak up the modern vibe of the city, you can do so through its many shopping centers.

Porto is famous for its Port wine, its Francesinha and its many traditional products, but that is not all. Porto also has a number of shopping malls that will make the fashionista in you whoop for joy. You will not be disappointed with Porto’s local boutiques either, because no matter your taste, the city will have something for you to delight in.

Complete Oporto Experience in only 5 hours

Nuno's deep knowledge of the tiles of Porto is remarkable, and his eagerness to share these insights with you is such an asset for your trip!
Trained as an architect, with a love of food and his home town, Nuno will walk you through Porto, teaching you to "read" the tiles and all they tell you about the city's history of conquest, characters, and style.
It is a priceless 5 hours!
Without it, you are really missing the true Porto.
You can walk and admire and photograph the tiles, but without Nuno's interpretation, you'll love 90%.

Porto/Gaia Bike Tour

This was a great way to get out and around Porto. After a long flight and train ride to to get to Porto, it was nice to stretch you legs. I slept great that night as well. Anselmo takes you on safe routes, with out missing much detail of the city. The great surprise was being able to see both sides on the Douro River. He has the knowledge of being raised locally and a passion of biking. It was great sharing a beer, and recieving information about how and where to visit after the tour. We took the tour on a Thursday and were able to squeeze in a trip to Bacelos in the afternoon for the weekly market. Anselmo, explored our best options to do this trip in advance. Thanks again Anselmo. Cheers

Passionate Porto Food Tour

Luis gave our group of 4 a great tour of Porto! We went on this tour on our first day in town and he gave us a great introduction to the city and favorite foods. As he said, this isn't a guidebook tour of the places the books tell you to go. More like visiting your friend's hometown and having them show you around. He took us to varied places and locations and helped refine our itinerary to get the most out of our stay. Excellent suggestions, especially loved 7Grams Roasters. Fabulous coffee! Luis is fun and entertaining and very easy to talk to. He was very great about email communication both before and after our tour! Would love to do another tour with him and will not hesitate to recommend him. Thanks, Luis!

Boutiques in Porto

  • You will not find another souvenir shop that is as aptly named as The Portuguese Cock. Named after Portugal’s national emblem the rooster (or cock), the boutique features custom souvenirs handmade by the store’s artisan owner.
  • If you wish to bring home souvenirs, it would do you well to get some fantastic pieces from Porto d'Agulha, an arts and crafts store that sells creative and original pieces that capture the essence of Porto.
  • In search of amazing Port to bring home? End your hunt with Garrafeira do Carmo, a great place to taste and learn about Porto’ signature drink. Though small, the shop has an impressive collection and staff who are great with customers. They also offer shipping to your home country, so you can forget about lugging bottles around and facing problems with customs.
