Make Your Own Traditional Porto Tile

We would like to thank Teresa for being so accommodating. Our tile workshop was scheduled to be on Thursday but due to bad weather our flight was delayed. Teresa kindly switched our workshop to the following day and we were able to enjoy her workshop. She began by giving us a little introduction of tiles in Portugal and then let us choose our designs. Overall it was a relaxing and informative session.

Cool Street Art Tour in Porto

We had a private tour, walked around the city with Joao showing us all of the amazing pieces and stickers around Porto! It's great to know the history and story of street art and graffiti, we even got to make our own sticker! Would recommend it for sure :)

Pasteis de Nata Workshop + home dinner

Patricia is a wonderful host and SO speedy to communicate with during the planning phases! She didn't bat an eye when traffic caused us to start 20 minutes late and greeted me with a glass of wine and spread of bread and cheese. Over conversation with Patricia, her partner Rui and their kiddo Davide, I learned a bit about local customs and their international visitors.

Then we hit the kitchen to stir up the custard base and cut out the tart shells. We combined the two, popped it all in the oven and allowed dessert to bake while we enjoyed soup, gumbo and a variety of vegetable side dishes. It was a feast—but be sure to save room to enjoy one of the pastries you whipped up!

I'd highly recommend this experience as a way to get an authentic taste of the local cuisine and lifestyle.

Note: It's a bit tough to spot the location of the event, but the folks at the gym nearby can point you towards the correct address # and door. Cheers!
