Best Markets in Porto

Porto is a wonderful place to be in, not just for its scenery, its food or its architecture. There is more to Porto than meets the eye, which is why with the help of your local guide, you will have an amazing time and a truly authentic Porto experience by going to one of the city’s attractions: its markets.

What’s in a market? More than fish, fruit, vegetables and meat; local markets give every visitor an authentic feel of the place. This is especially true for tourists who are used to doing groceries and shopping for goods in supermarkets and department stores located in malls. While there are many shopping centers and malls in Porto, the city still has a lot of markets that will appeal to your senses and make you say, “so this is how locals do it!”

Come to Porto’s markets while you are on your holiday and go back home enriched with Porto’s culture, vibe and the friendships and connections you made with its warm and hospitable people.

Complete Oporto Experience in only 5 hours

Nuno's deep knowledge of the tiles of Porto is remarkable, and his eagerness to share these insights with you is such an asset for your trip!
Trained as an architect, with a love of food and his home town, Nuno will walk you through Porto, teaching you to "read" the tiles and all they tell you about the city's history of conquest, characters, and style.
It is a priceless 5 hours!
Without it, you are really missing the true Porto.
You can walk and admire and photograph the tiles, but without Nuno's interpretation, you'll love 90%.

Porto/Gaia Bike Tour

This was a great way to get out and around Porto. After a long flight and train ride to to get to Porto, it was nice to stretch you legs. I slept great that night as well. Anselmo takes you on safe routes, with out missing much detail of the city. The great surprise was being able to see both sides on the Douro River. He has the knowledge of being raised locally and a passion of biking. It was great sharing a beer, and recieving information about how and where to visit after the tour. We took the tour on a Thursday and were able to squeeze in a trip to Bacelos in the afternoon for the weekly market. Anselmo, explored our best options to do this trip in advance. Thanks again Anselmo. Cheers

Passionate Porto Food Tour

Luis gave our group of 4 a great tour of Porto! We went on this tour on our first day in town and he gave us a great introduction to the city and favorite foods. As he said, this isn't a guidebook tour of the places the books tell you to go. More like visiting your friend's hometown and having them show you around. He took us to varied places and locations and helped refine our itinerary to get the most out of our stay. Excellent suggestions, especially loved 7Grams Roasters. Fabulous coffee! Luis is fun and entertaining and very easy to talk to. He was very great about email communication both before and after our tour! Would love to do another tour with him and will not hesitate to recommend him. Thanks, Luis!
