Lisbon's Favorites & Hidden Gems Tour

We had been up several hours and then spent another 20+ hours getting to Lisbon and were looking forward to our walking tour of Lisbon. João was so gracious and and attentive when we met. He paced the tour for us and it was spectacular. He gave us wonderful insights into the history and culture of the city and how its evolved into the dynamic city we see today. His education and knowledge as a cultural anthropologist really was a treat.

There is so much he shared with us as we walked all over the city using the stairs and elevators as locals do to see the sights and get oriented. João grew up in Lisbon and now lives in the Al Fama district. You can feel his love for the city.

The things stand out -
- his pride of his Portuguese heritage
- stopping for Pasteis and coffee
- fado music - 5 minutes
- views and sunsets over Lisbon
- how Lisbon and esepcially the Al Fama is changing as the local population ages

Off the Beaten Track with a Local in Lisbon

me and my family spent two days with Leonor, and we had good time and interesting notions to learn, as Leonor is a very empathic person and her acknowledge and culture make a tour with her a special thing, uniquely personal, her introduction to Lisbon will remin long in our hearts. Thanks a lot Lioness Leonor

After dinner head to Bairro Alto and Cais do Sodré and take a bar crawl with a local. This is the best way to get to know the top and most lively bars and clubs when you’re new in town. It’s also one of our favorite things to do in Lisbon at night.

Your private guide will show you the natives’ most beloved places and give you the greatest local partying experience, as if you were born in Lisbon!

After your bar crawl, end the evening in a cool club and dance until morning. Lux Frágil, Incógnito, Dock’s Club and Europa are among the most fashionable Lisbon nightclubs.

But there’s still one last thing to do in Lisbon at night or longer in the morning: the party isn’t over before breakfast at A Marendeira, a typical Portuguese restaurants opened all night at Avenida 24 Julho.

This is one of the locals’ favorite spot to have something to eat before finally surrendering to sleep. Make sure to try the “Caldo Verde” (cabbage soup) and “pão com choriço” (bread with chorizo) and end the night in a delicious way.
