Not only is this the most popular market in Marrakech, but it’s also one of the most important attractions of the city. The tales of “The Arabian Nights”, the times of the harem and the sultans, the nomadic lifestyles of gypsies and witches all come to life in this almost ethereal square.
It’ll be hard to believe that you’re in the 21st century as you find yourself surrounded by the pumping rhythm of cacophonous drums, the eccentric art all around you and the hundreds of stalls begging to be discovered….Jemaa el Fna is an experience more than it is an attraction!
The market is open 24 hours a day (and turns into an open-air food court by night!), but make sure to check if it will be deserted on the two major Eid holidays.
