A customized trip with Fadly

Fadly met us on time and showed us parts of KL we would not have found as tourists. The food was interesting and from restaurants we would not normally visit. Fadly gave us a well informed view of Malay cuisine and introduced us to new foods. The local food market was also a fun place to visit and taste some of the interesting fruits and herbs used in South East Aisa. Time well spent in KL

  • Join an “open house”

An open house, or rumah terbuka in Malay, is a Malaysian concept where during festivities houses are open to families and friends and strangers to partake of meals and celebrations. Your local guide will be able to coordinate this for you. Here’s a pro tip: ask your local guide to also set you up with a local costume that matches the festivity.
What if you are visiting Kuala Lumpur on a regular day? Well, your local guide will be able to coordinate such an event with a Malaysian family. This is the best way to get to know the country and its culture.

  • Jungle trekking tree to tree

Malaysia is home to some of the world’s oldest forests. Getting to know its unique flora and fauna is must and you don’t have to go far to do this. Ask your local guide about Skytrex Adventures. It’s a tree-to-tree trek high up above the ground.
There are a few ways you can move around – glide, dangle, swing, or ‘fly’ – and these courses are offered to enthusiasts of any skill level. All you need is plenty of gusto and not be afraid of heights. It’s an unusual thing to do in Kuala Lumpur but it’s safe and supervised and hands down the best way to get to know the country’s green lung. Just remember to stay hydrated – Malaysia is humid after all.

  • Eat unique local food

Malaysia is a food haven. You’ll find all types of delicacies everywhere, from the street to the shopping mall. As it is a melting pot of cultures, various cuisine are on offer. But it also home to some unique and exotic ingredients.
Your local guide will show you what these are and will bring you around for a food tour of sorts. Some dishes or ingredients may not appeal to your taste buds, some would even turn you off by their pungent aromas, but they are must-tries. Some recommendations are sup torpedo or bull’s penis soup, the durian and stinky tofu. Yep, one of the unusual things to do in Kuala Lumpur and you don’t need to travel far to get these.
