Italian Dinner with Opera Artists

Fabrizio, Otello and Giulia were amazingly gracious hosts. The four course meal prepared by Fabrizio was deliciously authentic and even included homemade limoncello and cherry leaf liqueur after desert!

Their home boasted beautiful, classic italian art, yellow marble flooring, and a wonderful outdoor seating area, shaded by a 120 year old Olive Tree—from which they made delicious hand pressed olio di oliva!

Being a musician myself, I particularly enjoyed the conversation with Fabrizio and Otello, who have designed costumes for an impressive number of international Operatic performances.

If you will be in Roma for a few days, I highly recommend dropping by for a home cooked meal and some great conversation. Tell them Lee, Carmen and Greg sent you!

A day like a Roman Tour

Our day with Chiara was exactly what we hoped for… An introduction to Rome as experienced by real Romans, illuminated by a charming, intelligent guide. The emphasis was not so much on history, but more about what Rome is all about for the people who live in this unique city today... a rare opportunity to glimpse Roman life through a Romans eyes. She crafted a special itinerary for us to tailor it to the interests we told her about in the message we sent to her before booking. She took us off the beaten path to hidden courtyards and secret gardens, to the Campo di Fiori, walked with us through Trastevere and the Jewish Ghetto, drove us to The Appian Way and to an authentic neighborhood restaurant we would never have found on our own. Chiara’s English is excellent. We loved our day in Rome with her on this customized tour!

Roman Food Tour: The 10 Tastings

Other things to see in Rome at night

  • Rome from above - Drink on a rooftop – Another of the great things to add on your list of what to do in Rome at night is seeing the city from above. Since we’re talking about drinking, how about doing that on a rooftop, where you can enjoy the views over the city and all its beautiful lights? Go to one of the best rooftop bars with you host and get the party started!
  • See the lights of the Vatican’s Saint Peter’s Church – The Saint Peter’s Church is a beautiful sight during day as well, but at night, you can see it even better with lights all around it and no crowds at all. You can take as many photos as you want to and relax right in front of it. Definitely a must on you what to see in Rome at night list.
