A Day In Magical Umbria
I wish I could write a positive review but I can not. I booked a tour for myself and my wife with Mauro on Monday morning at 7:30 am for his tour of Orvieto. We were staying near the Piazza Novena. I realized that a car could not get to our front door and Mauro said we had to meet him at a place that was a 7 minute walk. I did say ok but when I arrived at our room I did see other spots that were much closer that we could be picked up at. I discussed this with Mauro on Sunday night August 12, 2018 but he said we had to walk to where he was.
If you look at the conversations between Mauro and I -- you will see that I mentioned that my wife had a small wheelchair and we had 2 big suitcases. We were on a cruise the week before.
My wife and I made the walk with our wheelchair and luggage to where we thought Mauro was. It turned out he was about another 5 minutes further.
The big issue was when Mauro saw my wife and all of our luggage he said he could not take us to Orvieto. My wife could not make the walking? I do not know why there was such an issue when I did say my wife used a wheelchair in the first place. I told him my wife was fine to say behind in a restaurant and he and I could take the tour. He said he would not work. I am not sure if one of the reasons was that we had so much luggage which did fit in the car or if he had to park so far away in Orvieto or what.
Mauro said he could take us to our hotel at the Rome airport. Which he did - we arrived at 8:30 am which was too early for check in.
Now this is my issue:
1. I felt Mauro had something else to do that day and was not interested in taking my wife
and I to Orvieto. If he let us know we could have checked out of our room at 11 am and
taken a cab to our hotel at the airport. We paid him for taking us to the airport because
if not we would have had to walk back to our room in the Piazza Novena. Also Mauro
insisted that we be picked up at 7:30 am instead of 8:30 am that I requested.
2. I paid a deposit to withlocals that needs to be refunded to me. Please let me know that
you are refunding my credit card as soon as possible. This is because we did not get a
tour of Orvieto that we contracted for.
