Do you remember the movie Vacanze Romane, with Gregory Peck and Audrey Hepburn? So you should remember the journalist and the princess visiting Rome and its monuments riding a beautiful Vespa. It was 1953; seven years later, it was Federico Fellini with La dolce vita that chose Vespa as the means of transportation for the paparazzi that were trying to catch vip and famous actors in via Veneto. That’s why this tipically italian means of transportation is perfectly suitable if you want to visit Rome. Now it’s your turn: you only have to choose the local host that will give you lots of insights about this great city and start your Vespa tours in Rome!

Italian Dinner with Opera Artists
Fabrizio, Otello and Giulia were amazingly gracious hosts. The four course meal prepared by Fabrizio was deliciously authentic and even included homemade limoncello and cherry leaf liqueur after desert!
Their home boasted beautiful, classic italian art, yellow marble flooring, and a wonderful outdoor seating area, shaded by a 120 year old Olive Tree—from which they made delicious hand pressed olio di oliva!
Being a musician myself, I particularly enjoyed the conversation with Fabrizio and Otello, who have designed costumes for an impressive number of international Operatic performances.
If you will be in Roma for a few days, I highly recommend dropping by for a home cooked meal and some great conversation. Tell them Lee, Carmen and Greg sent you!
A day like a Roman Tour
Our day with Chiara was exactly what we hoped for… An introduction to Rome as experienced by real Romans, illuminated by a charming, intelligent guide. The emphasis was not so much on history, but more about what Rome is all about for the people who live in this unique city today... a rare opportunity to glimpse Roman life through a Romans eyes. She crafted a special itinerary for us to tailor it to the interests we told her about in the message we sent to her before booking. She took us off the beaten path to hidden courtyards and secret gardens, to the Campo di Fiori, walked with us through Trastevere and the Jewish Ghetto, drove us to The Appian Way and to an authentic neighborhood restaurant we would never have found on our own. Chiara’s English is excellent. We loved our day in Rome with her on this customized tour!
