Attractions worth visiting in Mumbai, India

  • Gateway of India - This is not just one of Mumbai’s top attractions, but also one of the most famous landmarks in India. It’s an iconic and massive arch built by the British in 1911 overlooking the Arabian Sea at Apollo Bunder, in Colaba. Supposed to be a welcome for visitors arriving by sea at Mumbai Harbor. Boat rides are a lot of fun, and you can take a quick trip to the Elephanta Caves just offshore.
  • Film City – More than anything else, Mumbai is more famous as the home of Bollywood. If you’re celeb-crazy and curious about Bollywood movies and the song and dance sequences, you can see India’s movie industry in full swing at the sets in Film City in Goregaon. Take a guided two-hour tour with visits to points of interest and a set where filming will be in progress.
  • Dharavi - It’s not what you would call a traditional attraction or landmark. Dharavi is one of the world’s largest slums and now a tourist attraction to boot, thanks to Slumlord Millionaire. There are actually ‘reality tours’ that will show you the reality of life in Dharavi. It’s a whole lot more fascinating than admiring art work you don’t understand at the Jehangir Art Gallery
