Hong Kong's Airport

Hong Kong’s Airport is a great place full of fun and entertainment, and way more than just a transportation hub. You can find a movie theater, 24-hour lounges, a design gallery and shops from all around the world.  The airport shopping options range from the high-end brands to local designers products, so if you forgot to shop for souvenirs, you can find some Hong Kong-themed gifts or local pastries and delicacies that can make the perfect gifts!

When it comes to getting your stomach full, Hong Kong’s Airport offers a variety of food choices from Asian to Western cuisine. There are food courts in both the East and West Hall, and even a coffee shop right on the central concourse if you just need to grab a bite or drink some coffee before boarding.

If you are in need to surf the web, Hong Kong’s Airport provides free and fast Wi-Fi all over the place! There are also charging areas everywhere, so no more worrying about dying batteries! Even if you are travelling without any kind of devices, there are still Internet kiosks throughout the terminals, which is great if you just need to go online to check in your arrival at Hong Kong.

Move around Hong Kong's Airport

You can easily reach the center of the city by trains, buses, and taxis. If you’re in a hurry, the Airport Express train will be the best and most convenient option. It takes less than half an hour to get to Kowloon. Taking the double-decked buses is a cheaper option and it offers amazing views over the South China Sea.

And if you are hoping to get to a particular spot, taxis will help you with it. There are 3 types of taxies that you need to know of: Red taxis serve areas including all of Hong Kong Island and Kowloon, green taxis serve the New Territories, and blue taxis serve Lantau Island. Mark it down in your notes, as taxis cannot take you to places other than their designated areas.

If you are looking for car rental in Hong Kong’s Airport, the rental counters can be found in the arrival hall on level 5. However, the best option is to use public transport instead because it’s convenient and budget-friendly.

Hong Kong Food Tour: the 10 Tastings

I was initially apprehensive as it seemed too good to be true, getting your own tour guide, but oh my goodness I am so happy that I took the leap of faith and booked.

I won’t go into details and spoil it for others but we did things and tasted unusual food that we would never have found on our own - Ashley was just a lovely lady, very friendly, considerate, knowledgeable and so helpful - even before we met her and afterwards - beyond the “call of duty”.

I highly recommend this tour and we even ticked off some of our “must dos” whilst on the the tour.
