A time-capsuled gem lies in the shadow of Acropolis. Anafiotika is a scenic neighborhood which climbs up the Rock of Acropolis. It came to life after some construction workers from the island of Anafi built their houses there. This is why this area resembles a Greek island. The current residents keep the buildings as they used to be in an attempt to preserve an atmosphere from a past era. Anafiotika could be labeled as the most surprising area in Athens. It is not every day that you see an island background in the center of a capital. Anafiotika is worth your visit!

Julia's Authentic Greek Lunch
We experienced a comfortable and delicious home-cooked meal at Julia's home. We ate on the patio, which was beautiful. She and her husband were very hospitable. The food and conversation were excellent.
Greek Cooking Class with Organic Products
Our cooking experience with Melina was one of the highlights of our trip to Athens.
Melina was very responsive and helpful with the lead up to our tour.
Her cooking/teaching facility was obviously well designed with culinary teaching in mind.
The best part was the wonderful experience of shopping at small local shops, prepping the ingredients, and cooking a complete authentic Greek meal.
Melina's vast experience and knowledge of nutrition and traditional Greek cooking made the experience extra special. She passed on to us the origin and history of all the ingredients we used to prepare the meal.
The extra bonus was being able to sit down and enjoy a wonderful Greek dinner with your wonderful teacher and host.
A customized trip with Marilena
Four of us had a chance to “be Greek” for the evening as Marilena whipped up copicious amounts of food that represented her family and culture. It was a lot of food and drink. Along with the meal we had an awesome time talking to her and her sous chef Dimitras. Those conversations really take the experience to a higher level. Well worth the cost, well worth the time.
