A time-capsuled gem lies in the shadow of Acropolis. Anafiotika is a scenic neighborhood which climbs up the Rock of Acropolis. It came to life after some construction workers from the island of Anafi built their houses there. This is why this area resembles a Greek island. The current residents keep the buildings as they used to be in an attempt to preserve an atmosphere from a past era. Anafiotika could be labeled as the most surprising area in Athens. It is not every day that you see an island background in the center of a capital. Anafiotika is worth your visit!

Delicious Food Tour with Food Journalist
Georgia was a great guide, really knowledgeable and could tell great stories about how everything used to be and how all is different now. We had a great time listening to her stories and enjoying the Greek food at the same time.
Athens Evening Food Tour: 10 Tastings
Marina developed a custom tasting experience for us. We visited a trendy restaurant for a few appetizers, giving us a feel for contemporary takes on traditional dishes. Next we visited a fabulous store/cafe where Ionnis and Stavros, the owners, gave us an olive oil tasting, vinegar tasting, and samples of Greek dishes from many different areas, with ongoing commentary. Finally we went to a wine bar to sample some wines using grape varieties we had never had before. Marina is extremely knowledgeable about food, wine, and all things Greek. She is delightful and fun.
Athens Democracy & Ancient Politician Tour
Vicky took me on her Athenian Democracy tour of the city in January 2019. We had never met before. This was my first visit to Athens. She was punctual, friendly and very knowledgeable. She has a vast knowledge of the subject and her tour is very well-designed and highly informative. Vicky was pleasant and accommodating to me. She has a passion for history and for Athens, which comes across very clearly. Given the importance of Athens to Western civilisation and democratic politics, this tour is highly recommended and Vicky is the perfect guide for it. It is thrilling to stand where Pericles stood addressing his fellow citizens, see where Socrates was imprisoned before his execution, and walk in the footsteps of Plato and Aristotle. This tour was time and money very well spent by me, and it will be for you too.
