New! Climate in Cambodia

Cambodia has the monsoon climate. The rainy season begins in May and lasts until November. During the months of November –April, most of the Cambodian farmers harvest their rice. It’s the best time of the year to visit the country because you will be able to participate in the Water and moon festival which usually happens in November. Furthermore, you can enjoy the sea festival and the New Year Eve together with locals. And what is the better way than to do it at the beach? If you are visiting Cambodia in February or March, visit the countryside and take part in the traditional harvest celebration ceremony.

After the harvest, comes one of the biggest festivals, Khmer New Year, which falls in middle of April. The temperature reaches its peak during this time so it’s not a surprise that New Year is celebrated with a lot of water. Have you heard of Songkran water festival in Thailand? Cambodia has a very festival as well, where people participate in the water fights to cool their bodies and give a blessing to each other.
