As a native, he understands what Foods make JEJU special & unique. Started off w fresh Carrot juice / delicious -then- a Green Tea Moche-like treat / superb. Learned about the special JEJU Mandarin / Sumo & had a delicious glass of juice. Then we walked and checked out the many live Fish tank & made our choices. Then up to a 2nd story hidden restaurant for Abalone Soup, Miso & 9 fresh Abalone = Amazing! After dinner he walked us thru an underground Mall & to the ancient Administrative Building - fascinating. CHUNDO is jovial, gregarious, friendly, bilingual and knowledgeable JEJU Guide & Happiness Ambassador. He is 5 Star / 5***** / Tops all the way. "Yoon Sun has been amazing from beginning to end. For a start, She stepped in for our booking due to availability issue with other guides very last minute. She communicated very promptly with us and was very patient in dealing with our questions prior to the history tour. She is passionate about sharing her knowledge of all things Korean but especially specifically about Jeju. We learned loads from her and chatted from K drama to social system to Jeju specialties! "Jeju City may not have as many instantly recognizable cultural landmarks as Seoul, Jeonju, or Gyeongju... but thanks to Yongchan, what the city does offer came to life in the most meaningful way. He brought depth and perspective to every stop, sharing stories, historical context, and cultural details that gave us a much richer understanding of the island. His explanation of the 4.3 Massacre was especially thoughtful and thorough, helping us connect emotionally to a part of history we were eager to learn more about. "Yongchan is a historian who explained the history, cultures and customs of Jeju in an in-depth and impressive manner, especially on the topic of 4.3 Uprising which was his research topic. With his academic background and interest, he could also explain the changes and developments of meanings of the Jeju customs and how it was misinterpreted (or enriched in interpretations) in modern times, for example, the meaning and interpretation of the stone grandfathers in Jeju. The history and stories would not be usually explained as detailed and in-depth as him from other typical tour guides. Yongchan also spoke fluent English with an easy accent. It is definitely a good choice to walk with him if you appreciate an in-depth understanding of the city in your travelling. "
