We were able to visit a couple of local artist in their home, which would not have happened on a group tour. We walked the city for several hours at night and it was very memorable. "We made a great decision in hiring Tanivet to help us explore a colorful neighborhood, Jalatlaco, near our first night in Oaxaca. "Our group of four spent two days with Sofia in and around Oaxaca. We started with a culinary walk through Oaxaca. Sofia introduced us to so many great food experiences, in the food capital of Mexico. She knew how to find the hidden gems and we loved every minute of it. She also gave us some restaurant and shopping recommendations, which we took advantage of. On the second day, she toured us through the region, and again showed us the personal side of things. We really enjoyed our hikes, talking about nature and the region’s history. We ended with a fun mezcal tasting at a distillery she had known since a kid because it was her grandparents’ favorite. We really appreciated the personal and friendly tour Sofia gave to us and highly recommend booking with her! "

"We had an amazing afternoon with Sofia. A proud Oaxacan, Sofia gave us so much information, particularly about the food but also lots of general information about Oaxaca and the Oaxacan region. She took us to places we would have been too timid to go ourselves - we wouldn't have known what to order, and we don't speak Spanish. All the food we tried was delicious, and it was a lovely private tour with just the 2 of us and Sofia. It felt like a combination walking + food tour.
