"My wife and I have done many art and history tours in Italy and elsewhere in Europe but the 4 hour tour we took with Andrea was the best one we have ever done, anywhere. His detailed Verona history and art knowledge powerfully combined with his ability to grab and hold our attention throughout our time with him. His sense of.humor and for telling detail added to our pleasure. The more time we spent with him in key gemlike historic churches and at the funeral memorial arches, the more he peeled back layer after layer for us, the more amazing the experience became. And yet despite his scholarly devotion to the sites, he was a humble and gentle man and we felt imbued with his spirit and his unquenchable devotion to the city of his birth. In that vein, we particularly enjoyed his stories about engaging and perhaps gently sparring with his fellow countrymen and women who visited Verona from other cities. His pride and love for Verona shone through every moment. At the end of the day we were sorry to leave him but he gave us a proposed self-guided itinerary for the next day -- other key sites and churches to see -- and even proposed a pasticerria for breakfast and a terrific place for lunch (a mix of longtime local diners and visitors from other countries). We look forward to touring with him again when we return to Verona. In sum, if you are lucky enough to secure him for a tour (I bet he is in frequent demand) you will hit the jackpot. "
