"Chiara took us to really nice spots, and plenty of tips for our stay in Cagliari. Really good food and wine, also fun for all of us to learn a bit more about the Sardinian history. Can highly recommend a tour with Chiara the first night to boost the rest of your stay. Fun, relaxed and interesting 👍"
"My partner and I had an amazing tour with Chiara. She is very passionate about her hometown and we felt super comfortable with her. She made sure that the programm is adjusted to our wishes. I would 100 percent recommend booking a tour with Chiara. She is not only sharing her knowledge about the food of Cagliari, but also about many more topics. Its truly not a “job” for her, but also something that she is truly happy doing. Its more a friend that shows you around the city than a “guide”. Salude e trigu💜"
"Thoroughly enjoyed the tour. Chiara knows many good spots for food. In addition, given I was a solo traveller, she was able to include extra sight seeing stops as we wandered around Cagliari. Would recommend to others"
"Francesca was a helpful and knowledgeable host for our tour. Loved seeing the market and stopping to chat at the stalls. We sampled lots of excellent produce (local red wine a highlight) and learned about different food traditions. Francesca was really interesting and knew lots about the area and history. A great introduction to our stay on the island - highly recommended. "
"We loved our food tour with Chiara. She's so knowledgeable about her hometown, and eager to show it off and share it with you. The food we tried was delicious and we felt we got a true taste of Cagliari with her!"
"We had a wonderful food tour with Chiara. She was very knowledgable about her city and its cuisine and went out of her way to make sure we got to taste everything we were interested in and that the experience was what we wanted it to be. We went to some great spots that we otherwise would not have had found on our own and got some great history of the city on the way as well. We would highly recommend a tour with her. "
"My wife and I got together with two other couples in Cagliari. The three guys trained together in orthopedic residency and this is a reunion trip. Chiara was an excellent guide and has a real charm about her. We had plenty to eat and drink, and she made accommodations for us as far as food, preferences, or concerned. Would recommend her as a guide anytime"
"Wir hatten einen spannenden Abend mit einer sehr netten und interessanten Frau, die auf alles eine Antwort und wertvolle Tips hatte. "
"Tolle Tour mit Walter. Sehr motiviert und viele historische Details. Freundlich und lustig."
"Chiara’s tour was a wonderful mix of the cultural and food delights of Cagliari. Our tour of the San Benedetto market was enhanced by Chiara’s personal relationship with some vendors. Our tour of the city was insightful and we loved the opportunity to enjoy a break in a lovely cafe while Chiara shared her insights into the city and Sardinian culture. Highly recommended! "

Discover the magnificent Bastione di Saint Remy in Cagliari, Sardinia. Explore its history, enjoy the panoramic views, and soak in the local culture. Book a private tour with Withlocals for an unforgettable experience.
The Bastione di Saint Remy, named after Piedmont's first viceroy, Baron Saint Remy, stands majestically atop the ruins of a medieval bastion in Cagliari. It's two main sections, the covered walkway and the triumphal arch, or "Umbraculum," create an impressive architectural landmark in the heart of the city.
The Bastione di Saint Remy isn't just a historical monument; it's an integral part of Cagliari's cultural scene. The "Umbraculum" terrace hosts events, concerts, and exhibitions, blending historical significance with contemporary life. It offers captivating views and photo opportunities, making it a favorite among locals and tourists alike.
As you soak in the panoramic views from the Bastione, enjoy a taste of local life. Savor a traditional "cortado" coffee with a "pardula," a ricotta cheese-based pastry, at a nearby café. Indulge in the local "mirto" liqueur, a Sardinian specialty, while relishing the sunset over the city. It's a quintessential Cagliari experience.
While not directly linked to the Bastione, Grazia Deledda, Sardinia's only Nobel Prize winner in Literature (1926), captured the essence of Cagliari in her writings. Her work often features the city's vibrant culture and traditions, offering insights into the soul of Sardinia.
