"Hajer picked us up from the hotel and provided a fantastic tour of Muscat passing on het vast knowledge of the city. We visited all the main places of interest, Grand Mosque, Fish Market and Souk, Sultans Palace, Opera House, Hajer even took us into a Mall to find some shops. At the end of the tour we wanted some lunch, so Hajer took us to a locals Turkish fish restaurant, helped us order and joined us for lunch. Nothing was too much trouble for Hajer. "Great half day city tour with Alwood in a comfortable car. We enjoyed seeing Muscat with her and she was accommodating in adapting tour to our family’s needs. "We had an absolutely fantastic time exploring Muscat with Hajer today. It was like hanging out with a friend, but a friend who knows the city really, really well and has a great sense of humor. We wanted to try camel for lunch; she found us a delicious camel-serving restaurant. We wanted to stop by a supermarket to grab a few sundries; no problem. And Muscat itself is a gem. "Today Yousuf showd us Musqat. We arrived this morning in Oman and Yousuf was so kind to allow us a late start. He drived us arround with his SUV and showed us the highlights of Musqat and explained us all about the history. His English is very good making it easy to talk with him. "We have used With Locals in Rome and Athens, and they do not disappoint! So it was a given that we booked our tour of Muscat city, a fascinating place. Nasser picked us up and we drove around this fabulous clean, well laid out city, visiting the Sultan grand mosque, which was incredible and well worth a visit! The lovely staff helped me with fitting my Abaya (dress) and lihaf (headscarf) , which I hired as dress ettiequte is a must for woman and men (long pants, long sleeve shirt) in Oman and of course, should be respected. We visited the local fish market and grocery market in Matrah, the Matrah Souq (market - buy your tee shirts in here not outside on street - better pricing), old Muscat where you will stop at the Sultan's palace and the Portuguese Fort from outside. We choose not to go into either the Royal Opera House or Museum (due to travel tiredness). Nasser took us to a lovely local restaurant, Ramssa, the Omani food was really good. Nasser took time to explain and answer any of our many questions about Muscat. Great tour, thoroughly enjoyed the content and of course our lovely Guide."
