Book Naphat for a very special experience
"I chose this tour and Naphat as our guide as we wanted to have an experience which helped us better understand Buddhism as well as seeing all the charming side of this great city. Naphat felt like a friend by the end of the tour and we would like to come back again one day and share more stories about our spiritual journey, Naphat is quite special and if you want to hear more about the spiritual aspect then she is indeed the guide for you. The old town is just brilliant and Naphat will point out many places to go to in the day and evening 😍"

The early wake up call is beyond worth it!
"If the start time is putting you off - don't let it! This tour is beyond worth the early morning start, is value for money and Kit is so lovely and friendly, you'll have the best time! Kit's knowledge and storytelling will keep you engaged and well informed, and his warmth and happiness is a delight to be around. This tour is carefully curated and his insight will tell you more than any Wikipedia page will! Kit picked us up promptly from our hotel and as we headed to the temple, he gave us a little history of ChiangMai as we drove through the nice quiet streets. We first stopped at the bottom of the mountain where we gave an offering to the shrine placed there, and Kit explained why we offer each of our gifts. It was lovely and peaceful with nothing but bird sounds. We then drove up to the viewpoint where Kit showed us the city lights of ChiangMai and a little bit of history. It was then on up to the temple, we chose to walk up the 316 steps but the stairs were completely empty other than some sweepers, and at that time of day it wasn't too hot, but I can only imagine what it gets like at peak times! The temple itself was lovely and peaceful with only the monks chanting and bird song to be heard. Witnessing the monks morning ritual felt a privilege and we enjoyed learning more about their culture and their way of life. Kit swiftly then took us over to the ancient balcony to watch the sun rise and offered to take photos for us (not just here but along the way too, he'd often suggest if we'd want a photo in certain spots which we appreciated!). Again, the sunrise was something magical and so peaceful to witness. Not long after that we then went and gave food offerings to the monks and received a blessing from them. We also got a friendly welcome from one of the temple dogs who came to say hello! Whilst at the temple, Kit asked us if we knew much about Buddha's story, and admitting we didn't know much, he delighted in sharing it, and again, was really engaging and interesting - if I'd had a teacher like him at school I'd definitely have learnt more! After our visit to the temple we went down to a local coffee stop and tried the delicious coffee. Around this time the market stalls at the base were beginning to open and the coaches starting to arrive, and we began to appreciate our early morning visit as it got busy around us! It was then onto the forest temple, and as many reviews have said before, this was a lovely tranquil visit, with beautiful greenery and waterfalls. Whilst Wat Phra That Doi Suthep had been elegant and covered in gold and riches, Wat Pha Lat was more at one with nature, keeping it simple with wooden structures and natural designs. Again, the early morning meant it wasn't busy and we enjoyed visiting the grounds and learning about the temple and it's background. After our lovely tour with Kit, he kindly dropped us back to our hotel. We were still in awe from our morning and both agreed it was very much worth it. It was an honour to be in Kit's company and learn about his own background as a monk as well as get to know him as a person. If you're only ever in ChiangMai once then make sure this tour is on your list! Thank you again, kindly Kit, we'll be talking about this for years to come 💖"

Peaceful, memorable morning
"Kit was full of stories and knowledge. There’s no substitution for real experience and Kit, being a former monk, had a lot to share which added to our wonderful day. We saw the sun rise, listened to the monks’ morning chats, gave offerings, had a delicious coffee, and then visited the most fabulous forest temple. There was such variety in our day and we loved every minute. Book this tour!"

Wonderful day!
"Minty was a fabulous guide. She played great music on our drive, added fantastic touches to our day, like stopping at a hot spring, visiting a monk, and taking us to lunch where we had the most incredible meal. The blue temple, black house, and white temple are must-sees, but having Minty there to tell us many historical facts and interesting stories, made the day a real experience. She thoughtfully took our photos and even gave us tips for Chiang Mai, where we were staying. We continued on the rest of our trip and we still talk about our day with Minty. Don’t hesitate to book!"

Not your cookie cutter food tour!
"Purichat, who also goes by May, was communicative in advance of our tour and adjusted the start time to accommodate our late flight into Chiang Mai. She was prompt in picking us up in her comfortable truck. She took us to several local markets and roadside restaurants we would have likely not found on our own, and gave us a wide array of tastes of true Northern Thai (Lanna) cuisine. This is definitely a tour for real foodies who are willing to try things outside their comfort zone. This is definitely NOT your cookie cutter pad thai/mango sticky rice tourist experience. First stop - incredible Khao Soi (famous northern thai egg noodle/chicken soup) and a ridiculously tasty and savory Nam Ngeaw (Rice noodle pork broth soup with chicken blood cubes) Second stop - clay pot bbq'd chicken and crispy pork belly with payaya salad (delicious across the board) Third stop - this is where it started getting really interesting - sour beef and radish soup, Gueng Hung Lay (Burmese style pork belly curry), Chiang Mai Sausage, steamed ground pork in banana leaf, and both raw and cooked water buffalo laab. We especially enjoyed the sour beef/radish soup, Chiang Mai Sausage and raw laab (it's far tastier than the cooked version and worth taking the plunge), all washed down with a cold Chang lager. Last stop - Khao Kha Moo (stewed pork leg with rice) from the famous cowboy hat lady at the northern gate night market, followed by a delicious cocounut/tapioca desert and probably some other items I'm forgetting. By this point I was already dangerously close to a food coma! As you can see, for the typical western tourist, this menu may challenge what you may be used to, but it is well worth it the leap of faith if you have an open mind. Our only complaint? Too much delicious food. Because I'm apparently a massochist glutton, I went to bed extremely and uncomfortably full because I couldn't stop eating!"

Great experience with Kit
"We had a great tour—early morning Doi Suthep—with Kit. He is very knowledgeable, helpful, and it was a pleasure to spend the morning with him. He picked us up at our hotel at 5 sharp and itinerary was exactly as described. Very interesting and beautiful experience. "

A wonderful sightseeing tour in Chiang Mai
"We had such a great experience with Wuthikorn, who’s nickname is Boy! He knows so much about the Thai and the Lanna history and brought us to the city‘s most interesting temples. He also took us to a food market where we learned a lot about the local kitchen. After that, we had lunch together. We can highly recommend Boy as a tour Guide, he is very kind, very professional and organizes the tour according to the customer's wishes. Don‘t miss a Tour with Boy! "

An Amazing Day!!
"Naphat was an incredible tour guide. She was flexible when we wanted to change our plans and gave us a one of a kind experience. Her knowledge of her country is commendable. She is really plugged in and engaged and it made our time with her much more interesting. It felt like we had a good friend showing us the little gems in Chiang Mai and letting us see a part of Thailand through a completely new lens. We wanted to know a lot about Buddhism and the rituals of that religion and she did not disappoint. Our day with Naphat ended up being the highlight of the whole trip. Thanks Naphat!"

Great way to get to know Chiang Mai!
"Had a really great time exploring around Chiang Mai's old town with Aei - we asked for an evening tour, and it was perfect as the city cooled down. Traffic was manageable the whole time, and it was fun to ride around and discover places we wouldn't have thought to see on our own (like the Mae Kha canal). I really appreciate her consideration towards our group as well - two of us hadn't been cycling in a long time, but we found the pace and challenge manageable and the bikes were all also comfortable and well maintained. We saw much more stuff than we could've if we were going by foot, and it felt way more immediate and immersive than if we were taking a tuk-tuk or cab. Definitely do try this if you're new to the city! "
