"As a resident I discover facts, stories and alleys I would have missed without a guide! I wished there was more to see and discover in Joo Chiat. Not a fault of our guide -- the neighbourhood has probably transformed so much the last decade that unfortunately only a few spots or 'hidden gems' with it's character are left. Still, seeing what has changed recently and over the years was something worth observing. We nevertheless enjoyed the tour. Our guide Ron was knowledgeable and planned the route well. Other than about the peranakan culture and architecture, we also found out about new things about Singapore history. His quick wit and humour was very entertaining! So, 10/10 for Ron, but if I'm new to Singapore I'd explore other neighbourhoods as a start."
"Royston was super accommodating, friendly and knowledgeable. Food tastings were on point even with my wife’s dietary requests; we did not leave hungry. After the event, since we were heading the same direction, he continued sharing knowledge on Singapore on the bus ride. "Wow. What a tour we had. We booked a food tour and had a very entertaining history, local knowledge and food tour. The pace was relaxed, the topics, very interesting and eye opening. Showing areas and points of interest we would simply have just missed. Food element was varied and again items with history and ways to eat them. We would 100% recommend Arthur and his generous tour. Our only regret was we booked the tour on our last day not our first day. Do not hesitate would be my advice."
