"We booked a last minute tour of Lisbon’s highlights and hidden gems and were lucky enough to have João as our guide. Even though he just finished a prior tour, João was enthusiastic, warm, engaging, and clearly loved sharing his love of his city with us. João was very knowledgeable and just a great story teller, bringing Portugal’s history to life. We walked through several neighborhoods learning about their place in Lisbon’s history as well as important literary figures, famous places, and getting a great idea of the layout of this beautiful and vibrant city. Our three hours passed too quickly and ended with a delicious round of ginja. We are grateful for João’s enthusiasm and insights, it was a wonderful tour and we would love to have him again for another tour. Thank you, João!"

Lisbon can be a tricky city to navigate, so it was a huge help that she met us right at our hotel. She gave us great local tips—where to eat, how to save money, and what’s actually worth spending on. She tailored the tour to both of us, even though we had different interests, and struck a great balance between history, hidden gems, and some fun street art. Her personality was warm and engaging, and she’s a fantastic listener. As fellow Americans, we felt instantly at ease with her, but it was clear she really understands and loves Lisbon.
