Rita Rocks!
"If you're planning a trip to Sintra, Portugal, book a tour with Rita (she came highly recommended to me by a colleague). Rita's passion for Sintra, the people, and history was immediately evident. She has a warm personality and is an engaging storyteller who took the time to answer our questions and share personal anecdotes, and by the end of the tour, it felt like I was saying goodbye to a friend. Choose Alphé - You won’t regret it!
"Alphé was a wonderful guide. Friendly and very knowledgeable about the history of Lisbon and Portugal. He kept in mind our food preferences and accommodated both my husband and I. My husband likes to try fish dishes but I don’t. Also, the hills in Lisbon can be daunting. If you live in a desert like us, hills are not something you are used to. Alphé planned our stops so that we were going mostly downhill from the Barrio Alto back to our hotel in Chiado. We did not realize that we booked our tour on a national holiday so many restaurants were closed but Alphé still found many good ones for us to try. The food was delicious! We are so glad we booked this food tour and so will you!"

Well worth it!
"We had a wonderful time with Camila. We've never booked WithLocals before. It was great. We had a blast walking and talking with Camila. She told us about the history and culture. It was great being able to ask her questions about local life. She took us to places we would have never gone to on our own. Come hungry!"

An interesting, relaxed and fun experience
"We had such a lovely tour with Jorge. As soon as we met up, he was friendly, funny and informative. We had arrived in the city the day before during the massive celebrations for the 50th anniversary of the overthrow of the dictator Salazar, and the beginning of democracy in Portugal, about which I am afraid we knew nothing, so he was able to give us a very comprehensive overview. He is extremely knowledgeable about Lisbon in every way, and showed us many sights that we would not have found ourselves. He also was full of practical information and helped us to get our travel cards to cover the next couple of days. He was very generous with his time, and ended up joining us for a sangria at the end of the tour. Thank you so much Jorge - will definitely recommend you!"

A great introduction to Lisbon
"We couldn’t have asked for a better introduction to Lisbon! The rain did not deter Angelo’s enthusiasm for his city and he masterfully pivoted so that we could still see everything with breaks for indoor activities. In fact, one the highlights for us was a pivot to taste the Portuguese flavors at Meia duzia. Learning the locals secrets to avoiding the hills was invaluable for rest of our stay. We learned so much of the history of Lisbon from Angelo and his reverence and enthusiasm for his city was contagious. Highly recommend!"

Passionate and knowledgeable
"Ana's passion for Lisbon, its people, its history, its art and its food comes through very clearly during the tour. She has lots of great information and stories that make the city come alive. We really enjoyed our time with Ana. She made our visit to Lisbon that much more special."

Chris
"If you’re heading to Lisbon, you need to take this tour and you need to do it with André! We had just landed in Portugal a few hours earlier on a red eye flight from the U.S. and we wanted to keep moving as much as we could on that first day. André was the best guide we could have asked for! He was professional and courteous from the time we met until we took a selfie and parted ways a few hours later. By the end we felt like family! The food & drink were the point of the tour, but as an added bonus André shared so much knowledge about the country’s rich history as we strolled through Lisbon. From local meats and cheeses (that buttery cheese tho 🤤), bifana, pasteis de nata, ginjinha, and everything in between, we were exposed to so much of the local fare the city has to offer. André gave solid advice on what to do and where to go during our stay, and after the tour he also shared a detailed summary of where we went and what we ate at each stop (we went back to several of the places for more on our own!). He gave us confidence to dig deeper into the local scene than we might have otherwise done as tourists. If I could rate it an 11, I would!"

Great personalized tour
"The tour with Angelo was amazing! We covered the most popular neiborghoods , learned the history of Lisbon and get to taste some delicious snacks on the way. Ângelo is genuinely passionate about introducing us the culture and history of Lisbon. I love the flexibility of a personalized tour, he altered some routes for us so we could taste some delicious pastries & snacks. After the tour, he also sent tons of recommendations of Lisbon and Porto, so we could plan the rest of our trip. "

The ONLY way to explore Lisbon!
"There aren’t enough words of praise to adequately describe our day in Lisbon with David. After meeting us at the pier, we immediately were immersed in the local culture and history with our newest best-friend, David! He is well learned and was able to answer all questions. He is familiar with locals, shopkeepers and friends on the street. He was able to get us quickly around the city, knowing shortcuts, so that we could cover more area and sites in the most efficient way. We would highly recommend our friend, David, as your guide when in Lisbon. Cannot wait to go back!"
