Reviews from guests about our tours and locals
"Mariel’s extensive knowledge of the history of Mexico City and her passion for it all was exhilarating! The time we spent with her went so fast because we were so fascinated by it all. The visit to Chapultepec Castle was enchanting and a great learning experience. I would highly recommend this tour and Mariel!"
"We could write pages about how much we loved this experience. Mabel is a tour guide—and companion—par excellence, and that is no exaggeration. From the moment we booked, she was in regular communication, and even from those early exchanges we knew we had found someone truly exceptional. Her grasp of the rich, layered histories that culminate in the Templo Mayor—and its many subsequent additions—is both deep and foundational. More importantly, she has that rare gift of bringing history vividly to life in a way that is engaging and accessible. She went above and beyond throughout—sharing insights generously, helping with restaurant reservations, guiding us through menus, and even being the perfect lunch companion. What we experienced felt far more personal than a typical tour—more like spending the day with a knowledgeable friend who genuinely cared about making our time meaningful. We would recommend Mabel without hesitation. Thank you, Mabel!"
"We were so happy to have signed up for a tour of the Mexico City castle with Mariel. The castle was very interesting to see and Mariel made the experience so much better. She was very knowledgeable and passionate about the history of Mexico as well as understanding the current complexities of society in Mexico. She is proud of her heritage and also shared with us what it’s like to live in Mexico today. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. "
"Daniel was great and had a broad knowledge of the castle, its inhabitants and Mexican history in general. I learned a lot and enjoyed the private exchanges big time. "
"My friend and I had a great time with Rogelio at Templo Mayor. Rogelio was very patient and kind - he came to find us when the uber dropped us at the other side of the entrance, he answered all of our questions and let us go at our own pace, and was extremely knowledgeable about the history and artifacts. He even gave us a great lunch recommendation nearby. I recommend you make sure to eat and hydrate enough to get you through the morning because the museum doesn’t allow food and drink (understandably) and the tour can take a long time. Another nice thing is, you can take a break for food and come back to the museum, as long as it is the same day, so if you want to spend more time, you can. I really enjoyed this tour and Rogelio was an excellent guide. "
"Nalleli was on time, helpful, knowledgeable and fun to be with. We discussed, laughed and enjoyed our time together. Would definetely recommend Nalleli ! "
"We feel very fortunate to have Mabel as our guide for the Templo Mayor tour. Her vast wealth of knowledge paired with her charm and kindness made our experience perfect. We got a bit lost trying to find the entrance and were late, but Mabel took the trouble to find us and her calm presence had us feeling comfortable immediately. I look forward to having another tour with Mabel the next time we visit CDMX. Which we will for sure, because of this amazing city and people like Mabel. "
"Great tour and most importantly her personality made it fun. I would definitely come back . First time using this company so it was awesome experience. Thank you Mariel you are a great history tour guide ❤️🇲🇽. "
"Juan Pablo proved to be an outstanding guide and served as the perfect introduction to Mexico City (we are first time visitors). We explored all round the area near the Palacio Bellas Artes – the churches, the food market, the Zocalo, the Post Office, Chinatown, and the National Art Museum. The market was fascinating – food from all over Mexico and the coast, including lambs ready for restaurants to take and serve that night, all types of seafood, and spices and sauces. We took a break from the walking at the Zocalo, which was closed due to the marathon from the weekend. Juan led us through a jewelry store and up an elevator to the 6th floor, where we found Primer Cuadro, an open-air steak house. We enjoyed our beverages, an incredible view of the Zocalo, and especially the guacamole. A nice insider’s place to stop. We learned much from Juan and definitely recommend this tour and Juan as a guide. We learned so much of Mexican History (past and present), the politics, the culture, the people, and the layout of one of the older sections of the city. "
