Great experience!
"Our hosts did a great job of showing us through their community and helping us understand how difficult life is in Nairobi. It was very educational and heart breaking to see people living like this. Despite the struggles, our hosts were very positive and up beat and answered all of our questions."

Mind blowing experience
"We have booked and enjoyed a few online experiences "With locals"but this was unique. The experience was led by Murumba (apology for the spelling) with Typhoon and Priest. Each offered their own fascinating and gripping story of their home town.It was very humbling to listen to their stories and look around their neighbourhood. Our age groups stretched over 50 years but we all enjoyed the whole experience. If you only book one "With locals" online experience make it this one!"

Excellent Tour
"This was an excellent tour. Informative and very personal. It was so lovely to have Mrembe walk us through the streets, shops and schools. It was so fun for our group to have an opportunity to say hello to locals and the many kids who were excited to chime in as they walked by. Parents and kids from our eighth grade class in San Francisco, California had an opportunity to see what life is like on the other side of the world. Mrembe’s story was incredible and we were so lucky to have had him share it with us. This experience was over technology. I can’t imagine how it would even be better in person. Wonderful and worth it. On a personal note, I want to thank the team for being so flexible with the confusion on time zones. Such a kind and generous team to work with. "

Inspiring & hope-filled virtual adventure
"Quit reading reviews and book this tour now! I've booked about half a dozen virtual tours during the shutdown to experience new cultures and countries with friends, family and work colleagues. Our hour with Kissart, Donga, Cheddaz, and a 4th man whose name I didn't catch (sorry!) was one of the best - they explained some of the realities of life in the Mathare slum and then shared a quick tour before ending with a very personal story of their life experience. The conditions and lack of sanitation are definitely a shock to western standards, but throughout the tour cheerful street kids excitedly waved and posed while our guides were warmly greeted by their neighbors. We had several kids (ages 8 and 12) join the virtual tour and they were fascinated, though be aware that the the amount of violence and death the men experienced as young kids is heartbreaking. In addition to this tour I highly recommend researching Nai Nami and the Roots Institute Centre school project to learn more. "

One of a kind experience <3
"Kissmart and his crew are incredible people! Was a pleasure to meet them and hear their stories while getting the pulse of the slams. They were so positive and full of energy during the entire experience. They showed us how people live in the slums, explaining us their struggles and replying to all our questions. I hope I'll have the chance to do this experience in offline and meet them in person. I would definitely recommend booking this experience and get a glimpse of the local lifestyle in the slums. Thanks for the nice experience! "

A truly raw and authentic experience
"It was amazing to meet the crew and navigate through the streets of the slums, experiencing a different life in real time. I loved the stories shared but also the way they made us feel part of their group. Very good energy and positive vibes! I liked knowing about the practical aspects of the local life in the slums as well, and they shared with us details that I wouldn't think of asking. I totally recommend this experience to anyone who wants to broaden their perspective over life and culture!"

Amazing energy and impressive stories
"Godfrey and his friends really made us experience 'their hood' even though we were all at home unfortunately. By actually walking through their neighborhood powered by impressive and impactful story telling. It was interactive, it felt very real and the joy and happiness Godfrey and his friends were sharing reached us all the way in our homes. Hope to visit you guys in real life in the future. Thanks for the amazing experience! Peace out."

Indrukwekkend!
"Ondanks de slechte verbinding hebben we veel indrukken kunnen krijgen van Godfrey, zijn familie, vrienden en omgeving. Het was moeilijk te verstaan en het beeld was niet de beste kwaliteit, toch zie je al enorm veel van het dagelijkse leven. Aanrader!"

Great experience
"This crew rocks! These guys did welcome us as if we were long time friends and they took us through an immersive trip through both their neighborhood and some of their life stories. They are well organized and have good listening capabilities. Sometimes the wind on the rooftop gave us some difficulties understanding their accent because we are not English native speakers. But it was pretty much enjoyable thanks to their patience and efforts. This really experience is really unique and showed us what stood behind the usual and caricatural picture that we get about living in African slums. Vibrant communities. Awful chidren experiences and the possibility of redemption. In the end I was left with this though: beyond the risk of making poverty and suffering a source of unhealthy and asymetrical curiosity for tourists, could such an online experience be turned into a reciprocal experience of sharing and making something together? I will definitely book some more time with them to try and dive better into that. "
