"Federica gave us a lovely introduction to Venice. She has incredible knowledge of the city, its culture and its history. She is personable and took the time to answer our many questions. When our tour and gondola ride ended, she made us all feel as if we had made a wonderful new friend in Venice. "

Wonderful tour with Roberto
"We had a lovely gondola tour with Roberto. He is knowledgeable about Venice and in addition to the tour, he gave us recommendations for restaurants and other sites to see while we were there.
The withlocals platform and app were confusing to navigate, and it would be impossible to use the service without the app, which I didn’t know when I signed up. "
"The gondola ride in Venice was really lovely. I recommend doing it in the evening when it is much quieter than during the day. Romy was such a lovely guide and very accommodating. She gave us a local's perspective that we wouldn't have had if we had done this on our own. Thank you Romy for a lovely evening on the canals of Venice."
"I was in Venice with my wife for 3 nights to celebrate our 25th anniversary. Our gondola ride with Romy was the grand gesture and Romy was phenomenal. A romantic sunset gondola ride. All the history discussions and architectural interpretation we wanted and just such a beautiful place - romance, art, and pathos. SO grateful"
"I think what would have been a wonderful but sleepy gondola ride was made 500% more enjoyable with Valerio as our guide. Lots of humor, knowledge, and just all around enjoyable, this is the way to do a gondola ride in Venice. "
"Marco,
We had such a wonderful time touring the city with Marco. It’s was invaluable to have someone who was born and raised in Venice. Insightful information and very entertaining letting us know all the history and local hot spots. Would highly recommend him to anyone visiting the city for the first time. Grazie Mille "
"Genny took us for a private walking tour around Cannaregio in Venice. Our 8-year old was looked after very well by Genny who is fantastic with kids. She helped us learn so much about the history of Venice, and my wife especially loved the societal history aspect. Due to the extreme heat in August, she helped us find a way to avoid it thanks to the private aspect of the experience. "
"It was a delight to meet Matteo, a local who clearly knows and loves the city.
He was warm and engaging and shared his enthusiasm and knowledge with us.
We explored some fascinating, out of the way corners of the city can't thank or praise Matteo highly enough for giving us such a memorable morning in Venice. "

A traditional gondola is a marvel of craftsmanship, built from eight different types of wood. Its unique asymmetrical design allows a single gondolier to navigate the narrow canals with just one oar.
The Secrets of the Gondolier
Becoming a gondolier is a prestigious and challenging profession, a legacy often passed down through families. They undergo rigorous training and licensing, mastering history, languages, and navigation.
Experience a Romantic Gondola Ride
A gondola ride is the essence of romance, famously linked to lovers like Casanova. A private ride offers an intimate escape, letting you discover Venice's hidden corners, just as they did centuries ago.
