He's a patient, knowledgeable, and personable guide who adapted the tour to keep it interesting for our kids. It was the heat of the day, and he kept things moving (important for children who are not used to the Southern Italian heat) and avoided some of the more sensitive locations to help avoid meltdowns and nightmares. But he also managed to take the adults, who were eager to see the body casts we learned about in school. Carlo even offered restaurant and gelato suggestions for later in the day.
