"We are staying in Dublin for a month and wanted to hire someone to give us a two hour orientation to the city, Not the usual tourist thing. We asked for Mydie because of the reviews, but Withlocals initially proposed a ridiculous fee. Mydie helped us pare that back to something passable, but still a lot for two hours of someone's time; the price-value rating has nothing to do with her. She drove us around for 2 hours teaching us the ins and outs of the city and the various neighborhoods we might like to spend time in. At the end she offered to go out one evening and have a beer. I'm looking forward to that."

"My husband and I took Ruairi's walking tour, and I can't recommend it highly enough. What I loved most was how he brought Dublin's history to life — not with dates and facts recited from a script, but through real stories, many of them his own. He's lived this city, and it comes through in everything he shares. He has a wonderful gift for making history feel personal. Every street and building had a story behind it, and he told them like he was letting you in on something, not delivering a tour. My husband is the music fan in our family and got plenty out of that side of things, but even if you have no particular interest in the music scene, there is so much here for you — the history, the neighborhoods, the character of the city itself. He also took genuine care of us — restaurant recommendations, tips for the rest of our stay — and by the end we felt completely at ease in Dublin.
