"The best thing about Ritesh is that he has a degree in history and political science so he obviously is well versed in the history of Delhi. The tour flew by with all sorts of very interesting information, visits to the Sikh and Jain temples with history about each religion. He even went on a quest to help me find my spice box! 5* for sure. "

"On our first day in Delhi, my husband and I decided to rely on our phones and guidebooks to see the sights. We had an ok experience but there was a lot of confusion and wasted time - websites often said a place was open on a certain time or day but when we got there, it was closed. The next day, wedecided to try a half day guided tour through Withlocals. Our guide, Vishnu, proved his worth within the first ten minutes! He provided so much insight into the history of what we were experiencing and how it fits with modern life in Delhi. There was no question he couldn’t answer! It was a relief to have a trusted guide to help us navigate the etiquette of entering temples and removing shoes, for example. Vishnu took us to parts of the city we never would have seen on our own. It wasn’t just monuments, it was also walks through neighborhoods and hidden gems. He was so entertaining, we wish we had found him sooner. It wasn’t also lovely to have a private driver so we didn’t have to constantly negotiate with Tuktuk drivers."

"I had a fantastic afternoon exploring Chandni Chowk with Ritesh, with breaks for the best street food! I gained an appreciation for how the history of Delhi melds into the present: while some families have been trading in the market for generations, there’s no form of historic preservation as in Europe. Some buildings are crumbling while new construction is underway next door. I mentioned at the start of our booking that I needed to find 2 more outfits for the wedding I’m attending this weekend. Ritesh was on the case, checking with friends on the best shops to visit. I’m very happy with the saree and blouse we found for the Mehendi ceremony and the fabric for the suit for the Haldi ceremony. We ran into several guys Ritesh described as ‘uncles’ (not literally his uncles; older guys from his neighbourhood) and I felt very safe in what could have been an overwhelming environment. I told my friend who lives in Delhi about the street food we ate; she’s excited to try the Japani Samosa (Manohar Dhaba, near Lajpat Rai electronics market) and the black dhal (Kake di Hatti near the spice market). After our tour, Ritesh went above and beyond in helping me get the eSIM for my phone. My driver guy didn’t know where to go or what to say in the shop to help with this, but Ritesh was all over it. He accompanied me to the mobile phone shop, translated and made sure I got connected."
