"My daughter and I did the Taste of Athens:Tavernas and Mezedes evening and Yorgos was our guide. From the beginning, Yorgos put us at ease and guided us through the streets of Athens. He is incredibly knowledgeable about the city and we loved that the Tavernas he took us were intimate and not in the mainstream. The food and wine were delicious and we learned so many interesting things about the traditional Greek dishes that Yorgos ordered for us. Unfortunately, I was not a fan of Ouzo but, everything else was fabulous including the yummy Lukumades we had for dessert! Thank you Yorgos for your knowledge, humor and kindness; we will look for you again when we come back!"
"Tatialena was AMAZING. We booked with fairly short notice and she showed up so prepared with an amazing itinerary. It was way more food than we could eat, and everything was delicious. Tatialena was incredibly knowledgeable and talked to us about the culture and history the neighborhood and food. It was so great having someone order and take care of things- we went to places we never would have found and got to try new things. We traveled for two weeks and ate our way through Greece and Istanbul, and by far my favorite bite was on this tour. THANK YOU!! "
"The day of our food tour we were contacted by Eleni that we needed to push back our tour as the restaurants weren’t going to be open yet? I booked this months ago and would have thought that would have been known when picking our 11:30 am time. Eleni was very knowledgeable about the city and history of Athens. The whole tour seemed very unorganized. The past food tours I’ve done have always been very well thought out and organized. I felt like we walked around several neighborhoods many times. Our group was 6 people and also felt like whoever was right by her would hear the history or stories, otherwise the rest of us couldn’t hear. Eleni was good about asking if there was anywhere or food we’d like and did accommodate that at the end of the tour. Again it wasn’t horrible, but probably wouldn’t recommend based on several past food tours and experiences. "
"Dionysis was a knowledge and friendly guide. He had us try a variety of different types of local cuisine and even some dessert. They all were delicious and new to us. He told us about the history of Athens and their food while walking around the area. He even showed us a hidden river that ran under the city. Would definitely book him for a future tour.
