What you can expect
In this private day tour you will visit a peaceful seashore place in Bangkok and explore the local and traditional way of living.
We will explore Bang Khun Thain District. It is the only district in Bangkok which is located at the Gulf of Thailand. The sea here borders with the mangrove forest which grows in brackish wetlands between land and sea where other plants can't grow. These plants protect the coastline and prevent erosion by collecting sediment from the rivers and streams. Mangrove forest not only protects the erosion of the banks, but it is also the best nursery for the sea life. It also supports local people to do fishery and create cockle, muscle and salt farms.
First stop is the Mangrove forest conservation center where we will get a chance to do bird watching. You will see the beautiful gulf of Thailand and its' rich flora.
2nd stop is we will visit a local Salt farm. I known the family of this salt farm and their neighborhood. They are very nice people and happy to give you the information of how to create a salt farm, what are the different salt kinds and how the salt is extracted from the sea water.
The last stop is "Saen Tor" fishermen community located in Bang Khun Thain District. The only way to enter to this village is by boat. This area is between the canal and the sea. The houses are on the water and the main craft of local people is fishing. They grow cockles, blue crabs and fish in the ecology surrounding by limiting the area for fishing of each house hold and not allowing to destroy the mangrove forest. The use of chemicals is strictly forbidden so you can be sure to have organic seafood.
During this tour you will get to know local people personally. You will touch the kindness of auntie Sim and uncle Rangsan. You will learn their ways of fishing, cooking and how important is mangrove forest to their lives. You also can enjoy cockles or crab picking, kayaking and swimming.
The more I know the local people here, the more I love mangrove forest and the harmony in which locals live together with the nature. I would like you to touch the kindness and the talents of local people and get to know them better.

Swimming suit for changing (please choose such clothes that you think you can throw away because it may be difficult to clean from the mud)
