What you can expect

Everybody knows that Bali is famous for its art and culture. You might know the beauty of Balinese painting, but do you know how to make it and what is the philosophy behind it? During this private workshop you will get to find out the answer to that question.

I will teach you the basic technique of Balinese traditional painting in Balinese style with philosophy from each step of the painting process. You will learn how to make a sketch and put color on canvas with traditional bamboo brush directly. Yes, not like typical painting class, we use traditional bamboo brush just like our ancestors!

We provide all the goods, canvas, brushes, colors, etc. You get to create a beautiful painting and take it home. The painting class is held at the Pengosekan Community of Artists, house of I Dewa Nyoman Batuan, one of the famous artist in Bali.

We keep it traditional in a good way of learning, and do it in the traditional balinese house. You can also see the way of living in Bali and we provide you certificate. So please enjoy!

my name is Yogi Antari, and i was born in an artists family. my grandfather and my father are painter, my father also can dance too! from a very young age i learn painting from them, a traditional Balinese painting technique. a lot of differents with other painting technique, we use different tools like bamboo brush, a special black ink to contour the sketch, and there are also unique steps with philosophy behind.
its very interesting to share it with you!

i love cooking too, my mother teach me how to cook a delicious food. she is not an artists but she is our family chef. she can make delicious meal and do some twist, so the taste of Balinese food (which is famous by its spicy taste) will be acceptable for foreigners. she always said, a family is a place where you can find a homemade food."
