What you can expect

Have you ever heard about Peranakan heritage? Whatever your answer is, I bet that after time with me you'll leave wanting to know more about my culture, especially after the delicious dining experience you'll have with us. Join my family for an exclusive tasting of many different small bites cooked with the modern twist of Peranakan style.

The menu features local Singaporean dishes with a Peranakan influence. What’s more I will prepare the various dishes in a tapas style. This way you'll taste more dishes and the more you taste the more you'll love it!

So what’s in store? Fried spicy shrimp on lightly buttered toast, crabmeat and pork soup with bamboo shoots, grilled coconut chicken and lots, lots more. In total, you’ll enjoy around eight delicious samplings and an unlimited number of refreshing lemongrass tea.

Each delicious item on the menu uses the fresh ingredients found in the local wet market nearby. I personally select each ingredient to ensure top quality the true taste of the original Peranakan cuisine. And while we taste, we can talk about how and why the Peranakan people came to Singapore and what makes our culture so special.

This experience may vary depending on the availability of the ingredients but I'll discuss the dishes with you for a personalized experience.

If you have any special dietary needs just let me know beforehand and I will ensure that your preferences are met.

We can't wait to welcome you to our family!

What does an Theatre & TV Actor, Aspiring Sculptor, Corporate Trainer, Writer, Primary School Teacher, a Dog named Mochi have in common?

Not much really...But it's definitely not everyday that you meet them all in one place.

We're a typical - not so typical "middle-class"(as defined by the State) family in Singapore, living in a typical housing (HDB flats) you'll find most locals living in, in a typical diverse neighbourhood, but with a not so typical family nucleus. Mark is of Peranakan heritage, avid story-teller, awesome cook and make a living being a "full-time part-timer". Mark's wife is a teacher in a local primary school, loves Mark's cooking, and mostly in charge of cleaning the dishes thereafter. Mark & Wife has a 'furkid' named Mochi, a super chill 'Singapore Special' who loves almost anything that can be eaten. Mark & Wife & Mochi loves to host people at their home, where you can come makan (eat) & relak (relax) lah."
