What you can expect

Sri Lanka is world wide known for its spectacular nature and wildlife. Don't miss a chance to see it with your own eyes and explore the best of nature's treasures during this private wildlife safari.

Day 1:

We will start the tour with a pick-up from your hotel in Colombo and head towards Tissamaharama and spectacular Yala National Park. It is around 255km away from Colombo.

On the way we will stop in Matara for local breakfast. (Approx. 2 hours via Sothern Express Way). The drive will continue towards to Tissamaharama, Yala national park there the wildlife safari starts by 4WD Jeeps.

In the afternoon we'll have the fascinating 4WD game drive in the Yala National Park.

We're usually going to aim to see the Sri Lankan Leopard, Sri Lankan Sloth Bear or/and Asian Elephant.

Yala is undoubtedly Sri Lanka’s most visited national park and the best in Sri Lanka for viewing a wide diversity of animals.
The flora is typical of dry monsoon forest vegetation in the
southern belt. The park is probably the best place to see the rare Black-necked Stork.

The biggest wow points in Yala are Elephants, Leopards and Sloth Bears. A recent study has shown that Yala has one of the highest densities of Leopards in the world. A game drive could yield Black-naped Hare, Spotted Deer, Sambar, Hanuman Langur, Toque Monkey, Stripe-necked and Ruddy Mongooses, Wild Boar, Jackal, Land and Water Monitor and Marsh Crocodile.

At the end of the North-east Monsoon (February), the park is also very good for butterflies.

Day 2:

Early morning proceed to Yala National park for a morning game drive. This time we also target to see the Sri Lankan Leopard, Sri Lankan Sloth Bear and/or Asian Elephant.

In the afternoon we will start driving back to Colombo.
