"Within minutes of meeting Rodrigo, it felt less like we had hired a guide and more like a wonderfully fun local friend had decided to show us around for the day. The kind of friend who knows the history, remembers the best places to eat, answers every question you throw at him, and keeps everyone laughing along the way. Rodrigo blended so naturally into our group that the entire day felt easy and spontaneous, while still being thoughtfully guided. He shared history, cultural details, local stories, and personal perspectives without ever making the experience feel rehearsed. He also read the room beautifully, knowing when to tell us more, when to let us wander, and when to gather us back up for the next adventure. Behind all that fun, he was also incredibly attentive and reliable. His communication was clear and responsive before and during the tour, and he graciously accommodated our last-minute booking and the various wishes of our group. We laughed a lot, learned a lot, ate well, and experienced Sintra and the surrounding area in a way that felt genuinely personal. Rodrigo effortlessly went above and beyond and it felt like a real cultural exchange. (He taught us about his home town in Sintra, we taught him the English word "squinty".) It simply felt like a great day out with someone who loves where he lives and is delighted to share it. We are so glad we found him and would happily spend another day, a week, or a whole road trip to Spain on a whim with him without thinking twice.
