"We (2 adults, 18 yo, 12 yo) met Arianna and had an excellent tour of the Acropolis and the museum. It’s important to start early and we came at a slow time which made it an uncrowded experience. We had prepared ourselves with some background information about Greek/Athenian history and that helped us understand what we were seeing. The museum is fantastic and made me understand some cultural bias I’ve had my whole life: the “Elgin marbles” should be referred to as “Parthenon marbles”. The museum destroys the previous argument that there’s no safe place for them outside the British Museum. "

"The short review is if you are after a private tour of the Acropolis then look no further than Markella. She was wondferful! The slightly longer version would be Markella is exactly what I hoped she would be. She really knows her stuff and not just about the Acropolis but Athens as a whole and Greece history from ancient times to the modern day. When it comes to Acropolis there is so much history, particularly in the museum, that you could spend a life time reading up on it. Markella condensed it down to the most important and salient parts while having the knowledge to expand on anything of particular interest to us. Weave all the knowledge into a wonderful way of telling us the story and I can think of no better person to show you around. "
