Magical day with Mauro
"There are not enough word to describe how magical this experience is. Mauro and extremely friendly guide. Europes big cities are wonderful but the smaller villages “una favola”. We had a wonderful time chatting with Mauro en route to the first stop. The first village is straight out of a story book and Umbria was breathtaking. We hope to return to Rome and will definitely connect with Mauro again when we do."

Amazing day to Umbria Region.
"Mauro was an excellent guide to spend the day with. He is very easy to communicate with before, during and after! He had us go to an amazing \"old city\" Bagnoregio high up on a hill. It was some hike with gorgeous views. Very patient with me needing to take extra time. Then off to Orvieto, another \"old city,\" less of a hike but amazing town.
Both so rich in history.
Had I known prior, I would have booked a 2nd tour with him while in Rome.
Definitely an amazing guide (and person)!"

Mauro was THE BEST! 10/10
"I’m not sure that I expected much more than someone to drive us up to the Civita di Bagnareggio, show us someplace to have lunch in Orvieto, and then drive us back to Rome. But instead we got a very caring, experienced guide—Mauro! It took an hour and a half to drive to the Civita during which we had a wonderful conversation about families, politics, and some of the more subtle differences between the US and Italy. I had been to the Civita 25 years ago with my daughter when there was a parking lot at the beginning of the quarter mile, very steep bridge which leads up to the little Civita. This time the parking lot was farther away up a steep hill which would have to be navigated on our descent, and I wasn’t sure I could do both the bridge uphill and the return path uphill. It wasn’t easy, but grazie to Mauro, he found me a ride back up the hill. And he knew so much about the history of the Civita. So it was more than a walk through at an interesting little town.
In Orvieto he knew how to navigate the escalators in the tunnels to reduce our uphill climb, which by then was definitely appreciated. And he recommended 2 restaurants. We chose one and were happy with our choice.
Because Mauro has lived in the US, his English is impeccable, and I CANT RECOMMEND HIM HIGHLY RNOUGH!"

Umbria! What an amazing experience
"It was truly a wonderful experience to go to Umbria and see an amazing world too different from Rome yet not far from it. Our guide Mauro made it even more worth it. He picked us up and all throughout the drive would explain a lot of things about the place. He’d even suggests what are the other places we can visit given a short time in Rome. Brought us to shops where we can get artisan products, unique finds perfect reminders of our trip to Umbria. And getting us to see an amazing landscape that really took our breath away. You need to prepare though for a long hike to get to Civita, but every step is worth it when you get on top. I highly recommend this place and getting Mauro to help you have an even more amazing time in Umbria with his kindness and knowledge of the place. It’s a place I will visit again for sure!! "

Outstanding tour guide and host
"We were introduced to Mauro online @ Withlocals and immediately felt comfortable with him. Mauro has great communication skills, is precise with his instructions on where to meet and at what time.
Mauro was on time for the tour, speaks excellent English and is very knowledgeable about all things Italian.
Our tour was from Rome to Civita di Bagnoregio and Orvieto. We stopped on the way for a restroom and coffee break.
If the rest of Withlocals' tour guides are as good as Mauro you can rest easy. We felt in good hands our entire tour.
He made our stay in Rome more enjoyable."
